Subject: Thunder Road and ACT Racer Phil Scott Is Vermont's New Lt. Governor

Republican Phil Scott has been elected Vermont's next Lieutenant Governor. The state senator defeated Democratic state Rep. Steve Howard and Progressive Marjorie Power in the race to succeed Republican Brian Dubie, who was running for governor.

By law, the Lieutenant Governor presides over the Senate, votes to break ties in that chamber and acts as Governor when the Governor is unavailable.

The 52-year-old Scott is a 3-time Late Model champion and 26-time winner at Barre, Vermont's Thunder Road International Speedbowl. Scott finished 3rd in 2010 Late Model points at the track. He is also a former American Canadian Tour (ACT) and Airborne Track Champion as well.
