- For Immediate Release
NAPLES, ME (August 1) – Oxford Plains Speedway owner and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry announced today that two sponsors from opposite ends of the country will team up to sponsor the 44th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway. Maine-based Scott's Recreation will join with Utah-based Fastway Trailer Products to sponsor the prestigious race, which will also air nationwide on MAV TV. The 44th Annual Scott's Recreation Oxford 250, presented by Fastway Trailer Products will take place on August 25-27 at Oxford Plains Speedway and will pit the best short track racers in North America against one another, with over $25,000 going to the winner.
"This is a great day for the Oxford 250 to have two great new partners join us for North America's greatest short track race," said Oxford Plains Speedway's Tom Mayberry. "Scott's Recreation is a company all of us in Maine are proud of and they have stepped up in a big way with their support of this year's 250. Having Fastway Trailer Products join them, along with the national television audience watching on MAV TV, shows the nationwide scope that the 250 really has for race fans all across the country. It's a partnership that will see the 44th Annual Scott's Recreation Oxford 250, presented by Fastway Trailer Products continue to grow as one of the premier events in all of short track racing."
Scott's Recreation was founded in Manchester, ME by Scott Lanpher in 1994 as a used powersports dealership. In 2006, Scott's Recreation expanded into a brand new 5,000 square foot showroom and has since gone on to become Maine largest dealer for RVs, motorcoaches, and trailers. And now fans in northern Maine and Canada can check out Houlton Powersports & RV Center in Houlton, ME for the best in powersports, RVs, and trailers. As anyone can tell you that has attended the Oxford 250 over the last 40 years, hundreds of RVs and motorcoaches attend the event every year, making Scott's Recreation a perfect partner for this year and hopefully years to come.
"We are proud to be the title sponsor for the 44th Annual Oxford 250," said Scott Lanpher, President of Scott's Recreation. "It's a great way to continue to give back to the racing community. I am amazed every day at the number of racers and race fans that buy products from our stores. Often, they will tell us that they are doing so because of our support for the auto racing industry in the Northeast. That is very rewarding to us."
Fastway Trailer is a division of Progress Mfg. and got its start in 1945 when Ed Hedgepeth started Mobile Manufacturing in Salt Lake City, UT. The company produced hitches, tow dollies, and the "Family Sleeper" before going through a few name changes and eventually moving to Provo, UT. Fastway continues to strive to provide the very best trailer parts on the market. Whether towing for work or play, feel secure knowing that people with families just like yours, care about the strength and reliability of every product on the Fastway line.
"We are extremely proud to be a part of the 44th Annual Oxford 250," said Progress Manfacturing's, Rob Stratton. "We realize it is one of the most prestigious short track events in North America. Motorsports marketing is a good match for our products. Many campers utilize our Equalizer Hitches to help distribute the weight of the camper and assist in limiting sway control. Our Fastway Flash Aluminum Adjustable Ball Mounts have become a favorite of both race teams and fans."
