There is no dictionary definition for "happy go lucky", but if there was you'd probably find Adam Turner's picture next to the explanation.  In the world of short track auto racing, where bumping and banging are commonplace and tempers often flare, the second generation wheel twister from Picton, Ontario is as quick with a clever remark as he is on the racetrack.

The 2014 season was a busy one for the 31 year-old father of 2. He ran weekly with the Pro Late Model division at Brighton Speedway and followed the Go Nuclear Late Model Series tour. When not behind the wheel himself, he was on the sidelines, cheering for the next group to compete under the Turner Racing banner – his daughter, niece and nephew – who made their first career starts in Brighton's Thursday Night Kart Club. Even with all the racing Adam Turner was exposed to throughout the year, there is one particular show that stands out from the rest.

"The Go Nuclear Series battle with Phil Potts – Sunday, June 8th – at Cornwall Motor Speedway was the best of the bunch," said Turner with his trademark ear-to-ear grin. "No racer will ever settle for second place, but I gave "Pottsie" everything I had and it still wasn't enough. I had a chance to wreck him several times, but that's not how I run. We raced each other clean and the fans saw a great show. Maybe next time it'll be my turn to win."

Consistency is the key to winning championships and the ATR #92 had some decent runs at his Saturday nighthome, eventually landing 5th, but more than 600 markers out of the top spot once the year's final points were tabulated. His time on the road brought some memorable moments and a 9thplace finish in the standings. Adam Turner knows he'll need to pull up his socks to run with the leaders as part of the travelling series and weekly at Brighton.

"The sport of short track stock car racing can be a curious game," admitted Turner. "All the hard work and preparation in the world can quickly be replaced by a little bad luck. We were in line for a solid finish in the Go Nuclear Series points, but a hard hit at Brockville did some extensive damage to the car. The crew and I had to strip all the sheet metal off the chassis, just to get ready for the final race of the year. Sometimes when you're under the gun, there can be things that you'll miss. We got to the show at Yates County Speedway, but things weren't right and we were never really a factor throughout the day. It was a big hit in the points and a tough couple of weeks in what to that point had been a pretty positive season."

Adam Turner and the #92 team would like to thank sponsors Village Variety & Gas Bar, The Work Gear, Mark Heating & Cooling, Paul Turner Auto Repair, Billings Automotive, Valleau Haulage, Rez Boyz Custom Wheels, Tires & Accessories, Corbash Auto Body & Collision Repair, Mohawk Wholesale, Angie's Pooper Pumping Septic Service, Kuda Transport and Clarke Motorsports Communications; as well as family, friends and fans for their support during the 2014 season.
