WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

REID LANPHER, Driver of the No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, On finally getting a chance to go back to Motor Mile this weekend after two straight rainouts: “I can't wait. I'm really excited. We were good in practice, and we've qualified well there (before rain), and I can't wait to see what we can do in race trim. I think we have a really good package for the races.”

On why he took to Motor Mile so quickly: “It has so much grip. Really, the tracks down south are night and day difference in grip compared to tracks up here. You can really drive off into the corners. That took a while for me to get used to, really. Once I got used to that, I started running some good times.

“I like Motor Mile. I think it's an awesome track and a great facility. It can be challenging as a driver because it's all about track position, but that's just part of it. It really didn't take me a whole lot of laps to get used to it.”

On his experience driving for JR Motorsports so far this season: “I'm having a blast. It's a lot of fun to go to the track with the guys every race. I've learned so much from them – they're so smart about race cars. I learn a billion things everytime I go down there. It's only going to help me in my racing career.

“It's been good going down there and racing against guys have been racing there weekly since the start of season, guys like (Lee) Pulliam, (Tommy) Lemons, Deac McCaskill – there are five recent track champions all in the field at the same time every week. Some of the guys we're racing against have been racing there since before I was born, so it's definitely a challenge.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                        ACT-053013-26

Waterbury, VT – After a rainout last weekend at Autodrome Montmagny, Série ACT will get underway this Saturday, June 1 with the season opening event at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC.

Autodrome St Eustache most recently hosted a season opening event for the series in 2010, and will serve as the kickoff to an 11-race schedule in 2013.  Série ACT underwent major improvements in the offseason, putting up over $400,000 in purse money, including an $80,000 point fund and $70,000 in tire bonus money for teams who participate in all the Série ACT events.  It is the largest purse in series history.

“My goal is to take the Série ACT Championship this year,” said Jean-Francois Dery, a title favorite in 2013 after finishing runner up in 2012.  “I am really looking forward to getting started this weekend!”

Série ACT came to St Eustache three times in 2012, seeing Dery take the victory in the first, and series champion Patrick Laperle win the final two en route to the title.  Autodrome St-Eustache will also be the venue for a midseason race on Saturday, August 10 and the season finale on Sunday, September 15th.

Other favorites for Saturday’s opening event will include top-five point contender Dany Trepanier, 2012 Série ACT Rookie of the Year Etienne Cliche, feature-winner Patrick Hamel, and up and comer Jonathan Bouvrette who finished a career-high second in last year’s season finale at St Eustache.

The ACT 100 will kick off the 2013 Série ACT season this Saturday, June 1 at Autodrome St Eustache in St Eustache, QC. Qualifying heats will start at 7pm.

9-time ARCA champ Frank Kimmel to make two visits to Minneapolis-area Menards stores Thursday afternoon

For Immediate Release:

Thursday, May 30, 2013

(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.) - Frank Kimmel's weekend for Elko Speedway gets started Thursday when he visits two of the 36 Minneapolis-area Menards stores offering discount $20 tickets to Saturday night's race. Kimmel will be at the Cottage Grove, Minn., Menards from 4-5:30 p.m. CT with his show car and then at the Eden Prairie Menards from 6:30-8. On Friday evening Kimmel will appear with other ARCA drivers at the Burnsville, Minn., Menards from 4-7 p.m. That's an inseparable part of his race weekends.

"It's always fun to see people that enjoy what you do," Kimmel said. "We have people that come by and don't really know what's going on and why we have a racecar in front of the Menards store, but there's a lot of people that understand it and follow it and are there to get their discount race tickets.

"They're excited to talk to you about what's going to happen so it's a neat mix -- it's a lot of fun to interact with them. They all look at our ThorSport cars and see how neat and clean they are, and I think they can't believe they can see them beat and bang and race on a tiny racetrack like Elko."

ARCA has scheduled two 45-minute practice sessions Saturday at Elko. The first is from 2-2:45 p.m. CT and final practice is from 3:15-4 p.m. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to set the starting grid, followed by a frontstretch on-track autograph session from 6:30-7:30.
