Camirand Scores a 6th-Place Finish in Edmonton
NASCAR Pinty's Series—LUXXUR 300

Wetaskiwin, AB, July 28, 2019— Marc-Antoine Camirand ended his trip West with the NASCAR Pinty's series with a sixth-place finish, at the Edmonton International Raceway, in Wetaskiwin, AB. The driver of the GM Paillé n°22 Chevrolet Camaro pull off the best he could out of his car during a rain-shortened race.
 
After 22 Racing team made radical changes to the front suspension of the car in Saskatoon, Camirand was hoping for a better outing in Edmonton. "With all the changes we made, we could have used more track time. Unfortunately, rain cut short the practice sessions, then qualifying was canceled. We would have taken a few more laps to find the right settings," stated Camirand, who started the 300-lap race from the 8th place, set according to practice times.
 
Camirand has been able to gain some positions during the race, despite being unlucky on restarts. "It felt like I took all the restarts from the outside lane. My car was oversteering again, but I did the best that I could. At the end, I had just passed Donald (Theetge, in 5th place) when it started raining again after 275 laps. NASCAR set up the field with the last completed lap, so I have been given a 6th place finish," said the driver from Saint-Léonard-d'Aston.
 
After a disappointing Western Swing, Marc-Antoine Camirand wants to move on and is looking forward to the next race, at his home event, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.
 
"In Edmonton, I did the best that I could with the car I had. It was better than it was in Saskatoon, but there is still something missing to run with the leaders. I'm looking forward to going back on a road course, especially to Trois-Rivières. We know we can be fast there, and I'm more motivated than ever to get my 15thvictory in career at GP3R," concluded Camirand, who holds GP3R's records for most wins (14) and podium finishes (22), all series combined, but is still waiting for a victory there in the NASCAR Pinty's series.
 
Marc-Antoine Camirand and the n°22 GM Paillé Chevrolet Camaro are primed to come back strong for the GP3R road course weekend, held on August 9–11, on North America's oldest street course, during one of the NASCAR Pinty's series most awaited race of the year.

Tim Burke is Set for a Late Season Super Stock Championship Charge

Turn back the clock to opening night; the time of year when drivers in every class had dreams of a track championship. As the schedule wore on, some dropped out of the hunt, while others kept their dog in the fight. With the 2019 regular season in the homestretch, Bancroft's Tim Burke is ready to mount an all-out charge for his inaugural Peterborough Speedway Super Stock title.


With a diverse resume that includes experience in an American-Canadian Tour Late Model, the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series and OSCAAR Modified divisions and the 2016 Peterborough Speedway Renegade Truck championship, Burke and his team are committed to putting everything they have into capturing the crown. With the Super Stock class slated to be part of 4 of the remaining 5 events on calendar, Tim Burke says this is the perfect time for his #99 crew to get hot.


"Some of the changes in the new rules package threw us a curve and that led to a slow start to our season at Peterborough," said the driver. "We've been getting better week-after-week and the effort we're putting into some of the changes we make on the car is starting to pay off. It finally feels consistent and that's showing in our runs. It would've been nice to have a feature win by this point, but the top 5 and top 10 finishes we've been able to log and that's kept us in the hunt."


In addition to his performance on the familiar layout of the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, Burke and the team also took their show on the road Saturday, June 22nd for another start at Jukasa Motor Speedway. Having been there only once before, the talented wheelman needed to go over his notes to come up with a set-up for the much bigger and faster Southwestern Ontario speed-plant. While he had hoped for a better result at the end of the day, it was still a strong learning experience.


"Looking at the big picture, the trip was good. We picked-up some information on what will work for when we head back there for the Saugeen Shores Transmission event – Sunday, September 1st – paying $5000 to win." Burke admitted. "Even though we lost a cylinder 8 laps into the race, we still managed to finish on the lead lap. It was a little disappointing, but you have to take what the car will give you."

John Baker Jr. Takes His 2nd Straight OMRS Feature Win at Peterborough Speedway

It was another exciting night of open-wheeled action as the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series – powered by Torque Builders Inc. and Gen-3 Electrical – got together Saturday, July 27th to tackle the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road.


With 25 laps on the table, Randy Hollingsworth and Craig Scott brought the pack to the green flag for the main event. Hollingsworth and Rick Warnes led a breakaway from the inside line as a 4-car battle for the 3rd position in the running order was being waged behind them. Rob Warnes held it first, with Nick Lees taking his turn in the spot with a lap 6 pass. Lees and Chad Strawn were locked in a 4-car fight for the lead, as Strawn took control of the field on lap 11.


There was action all around the venue known as Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval and John Baker Jr. used lapped traffic to his advantage to wrestle the lead away with a lap 21 pass. At the checkered flag, the pilot of the #63 machine held-off a challenge from Strawn and the 12-car field became Baker's Dozen, as the fan favourite wrapped-up his second consecutive Ontario Modifieds Racing Series victory in the caution-free event. Dwight Brown, Lees, Alex Cuzzilla, Rob Warnes, Rick Warnes, Scott, Bob Franks, Willow Barberstock, Hollingsworth and Josh Gruntz completed the running order.


Ontario Modifieds Racing Series notebook: Qualifying event wins went to Alex Cuzzilla, Rick Warnes, Chad Strawn and Josh Gruntz…The tour returns to battle with a Saturday, August 3rd date at Flamborough Speedway.

La pluie gâche le spectacle NASCAR Pinty's pour les amateurs et les courses d'Alex Tagliani dans l'Ouest canadien



Montréal, 28 juillet 2019 - Tous les amateurs de sport motorisé savent que ce sont les fins de courses sur pistes ovales qui sont excitantes lors des épreuves NASCAR. Tout peut arriver. Les coups vengeurs de fin d'épreuves sont souvent spectaculaires et c'est ce qui excite les amateurs. Cependant, la pluie a gâché le spectacle en provoquant la fin prématurée de deux des trois des courses ovales NASCAR Pinty's disputées la semaine dernière dans l'Ouest canadien. Mercredi soir à Saskatoon, une pluie diluvienne a mis fin au premier des deux sprints du Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 125s lorsque les officiels ont décrété la fin de la course au 116e des 125 tours. Et samedi soir à Wetaskiwin en banlieue d'Edmonton, le même scénario s'est répété cette fois au 275e des 300 tours prévus pour le Luxxor 300. Cette chaleur, tant annoncée dans l'Ouest canadien, s'est finalement transformée en orages et en cauchemars pour certains pilotes.


C'est ce qui est arrivé encore samedi soir pour Alex Tagliani lors de ce périple annuel qui ne lui sied vraiment pas alors qu'il a terminé au huitième rang. Le pilote originaire de Lachenaie a encore une fois joué de malchance au Edmonton International Raceway, deux fois plutôt qu'une. Lors de l'unique séance d'essais, il a inscrit le 12e temps lui causant tout un souci lorsque la séance de qualification a été annulée à cause. . .  de la pluie, bien entendu. S'élancer de la sixième rangée sur une piste d'un quart de mille amène toutes sortes de problèmes comme se faire prendre du côté extérieur du tracé loin derrière le meneur. Pas la bonne ligne comme a pu le constater Tagliani lors de la plupart des cinq relances, lorsqu'à chaque fois, il a perdu de deux à trois positions avant de remonter ses adversaires.


« Une autre course écourtée par la pluie. C'est dommage, car ce résultat n'est pas représentatif de la performance de la Chevrolet RONA/EpiPen/St Hubert Spectra Premium sur cette courte piste, a expliqué Tagliani après la course. Malchanceux en plus, car je me suis retrouvé à plusieurs occasions du côté extérieur de la piste lors des relances et ce n'est pas là que tu veux te retrouver. Chaque fois, il fallait reprendre les positions perdues avant de retrouver la position que j'occupais avant le drapeau jaune. Je suis même remonté jusqu'en sixième position, mais il y a eu une neutralisation suivie d'une relance où je me suis retrouvé 12e, et ce genre de situation est arrivé à quelques reprises.


« C'est dommage, car la voiture était meilleure que le résultat l'indique. Il y a un côté positif qui ne parait pas à la feuille de pointage : c'est que l'équipe 22 Racing a amélioré le comportement de la voiture du programme de piste ovale lors de ce périple, mais il n'a pas encore atteint le niveau de performance voulue. C'est prometteur pour les prochaines courses ovales. Nous ne désespérons pas, nous ne jetons pas l'éponge. Nous allons continuer de travailler avec acharnement et tenter de gagner toutes les courses qui sont à venir. »


Retour sur les courses de Tagliani à Saskatoon
Tagliani ne l'a pas eu facile à Saskatoon, et il n'a surtout pas été chanceux en croisant l'arrivée au 11e rang lors du premier sprint du Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 125s disputé le mercredi 24 juillet. Occupant le cinquième rang au 107e tour sur l'ovale d'un tiers de mille à inclinaison progressive du Wyant Group Raceway, Tag a tenté de doubler par l'extérieur une retardataire sur la ligne étroite sèche de la piste, lorsque la pilote a dévié de sa ligne de course poussant Tag sur le pavé mouillé où, avec ses pneus lisses General Tires, il est parti en vrille. Plusieurs pilotes avaient commis la même erreur plus tôt en course, mais la malchance a voulu que la course soit arrêtée prématurément neuf tours plus tard au 116 des 125 tours prévus à cause de la pluie. Il n'a jamais eu la chance de remonter le peloton comme il l'avait fait précédemment. Qualifié huitième, une bousculade l'avait poussé au 13e rang en début de course avant de se hisser au cinquième rang.


Dans la seconde course du programme double après un long temps d'arrêt pour sécher la piste, Tagliani a terminé sixième après s'être élancé du 15e rang. Toute une remontée pour Tag. Les positions de départ de la deuxième course du Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 125s étaient déterminées par le meilleur tour en piste du premier sprint, là où Tag n'a pas excellé. Saskatoon n'a jamais été une piste où Tagliani a pu se faire justice comme l'indique son record de trois top cinq en neuf départs.


Le Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 125s sera diffusé sur RDS2 le mardi 20 août à 22 h, tandis que les LUXXUR 300 d'Edmonton le sera le samedi 30 août à 15 heures.


Au classement
Si la pluie a fait le malheur des uns, elle a toutefois été bénéfique pour Andrew Ranger dans la course pour le titre. Gagnant de deux des trois courses disputées dans l'Ouest canadien, Ranger a accentué son avance en tête du championnat des pilotes. Il cumule maintenant 311 points, 18 de mieux que Kevin Lacroix. Avec une victoire et une quatrième place à Saskatoon et un podium de troisième position à Edmonton, LP Dumoulin passe au troisième rang devant Tagliani avec 281 points. Ce dernier, qui occupait le troisième rang avec seulement 14 points de recul sur Ranger avant son voyage dans l'Ouest, est maintenant quatrième avec 44 points de recul.


Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières : prochaine étape de la série NASCAR Pinty's
La série NASCAR Pinty's fait relâche pour deux semaines après ce voyage épuisant dans l'Ouest canadien. Pour Tagliani, retrouver le circuit urbain de Trois-Rivières sera un plaisir apprécié, car il a très bien performé au cours des quatre dernières années, remportant les deux derniers Grands Prix et en montant quatre fois sur le podium.

AUTODROME DRUMMOND - 27 JUILLET - COMMUNIQUÉ

Tout en émotion

C'est sous une chaleur persistante que l'autodrome Drummond a pu présenter sa fameuse soirée ''ARRÊT AU PUIT''.  Ce concours, qui consiste à faire le remplacement d'un pneu le plus rapidement possible, fût très souvent l'affaire de l'équipe drummondvilloise de Sébastien Gougeon. Les mécaniciens du sympathique pilote se font une fierté de procéder dans un temps record année après année. Cette fois  encore, Gougeon héritera de la ''pole'' gracieuseté de ses membres d'équipe. Le programme prévoyait également un vibrant hommage à Mr. Alain Gougeon, père de Sébastien. En novembre dernier, la grande famille du stock-car sur terre battue fût endeuillée lorsqu' Alain Gougeon ferma les yeux une dernière fois, entouré de ses proches à la paisible maison René Verrier de Drummondville.

Après des sessions de qualifications sans trop d'histoire, la classe STR emprunta le circuit pour leur épreuve finale. C'est le maskoutain Pierre Hébert qui aura l'honneur de parader dans le cercle des vainqueurs. Utilisant la ligne extérieure, Hébert saura faire habilement son chemin jusqu'à la victoire. Le vainqueur  sera accompagné sur le podium de Carl Labonté et de son fils Keven. Les sourires étaient nombreux sur la photo d'après course.

La finale LIGHTNING SPRINT suivra immédiatement et quelle course ce fût! Éric Sundborg de Windsor en Estrie profitera de sa grande expérience pour filer vers la victoire. Jordan Poirier aura tout tenté pour s'approprier la victoire mais Sundborg aura su résister. Complétant le podium, la talentueuse Sabrina Blanchet fera un sans faute pour s'offrir une solide troisième position au ''finish''. Sincères félicitations aux LIGHTNING SPRINT pour la qualité du spectacle offert sans aucune neutralisation. Quel spectacle!

*Concours d'arrêt au puit*

Place maintenant au concours tant attendu. Toujours impressionnant de voir à quel point les membres d'équipes prennent ce concours à cœur. Ils sont prêts à tout!  Ces mécaniciens, qui négligent souvent  leur conjointe, leurs enfants et leurs  vacances  au profit de la voiture de course, se voient enfin offrir la chance de se produire devant la grande estrade. Léquipe de Sébastien Gougeon fût sensationnelle avec un arrêt au puit frisant la perfection. On devra possiblement rebaptiser cette classique après autant de succès de l'équipe Drummondvilloise!

Un clin d'œil pour Alain

Le promoteur Yan Bussière avait habilement concocté un moment avant la finale modifié pour souligner la lourde perte laissée par Mr. Alain Gougeon. C'est d'un tour de piste tout en douceur et sobriété que son fils Sébastien ainsi que son petit-fils Raphaël prirent place à bord de leur bolide respectif saluant dignement l'héritage laissé par Alain. Les amateurs ainsi que les équipes purent, à leur façon, applaudir une dernière fois…le grand homme!

Finale MODIFIÉ 75 tours

Quel moment magique de voir la voiture 44 prendre le départ de la ''pole''.  Assurément habité d'un peu de fibre paternel, Sébastien a pu garder les commandes pour les 20 premiers tours mais David Hébert était définitivement plus rapide. Ce n'était qu'une question de temps avant que le ONE prenne l'avantage. En début d'épreuve, le circuit offrait 2 lignes de courses efficaces, plusieurs en profitèrent pour remonter dans le peloton. Yan Bussière est rapide également mais Hébert est trop fort. Steve Bernard et Mario Clair progressent bien également. À la mi-course, ce qui devait arriver, arriva. La température chaude ainsi que le grand nombre de tours faits sur le circuit drummondvillois récemment fit son œuvre…du ''rubber'' sur la ligne du bas. Dès lors, la ligne extérieure devint moins efficace et le spectacle en souffrit quelque peu. Mario Clair tente plusieurs tentatives très spectaculaires pour se rapprocher. Le ''rocket'' de St-Edmond fait parler son talent et dépasse habilement Bussière lors d'une relance en fin d'épreuve. Au final, ce sera Hébert, Clair, Bussière.

Finale SPORTSMAN 32 tours

On savait depuis longtemps que pareil moment était pour arriver un jour ou l'autre…mais jamais aussi rapidement! Even Racine fut spectaculaire dès le drapeau vert s'appropriant la ligne extérieure pour prendre les commandes de l'épreuve au 5ième passage. Plus jamais il ne regardera derrière tellement il était dominant. Mais le véritable spectacle est venu de son jeune frère, 15 ans à peine. William Racine à bord de sa voiture 35r a vraiment fait parler son talent hier en utilisant, lui aussi, la ligne extérieure pour compléter le doublé des voitures PNEUS ROBERT BERNARD. C'est au comble du bonheur que les 2 frères se sont fait l'accolade aussitôt sortit de leur bolide sous l'œil fier de grand-papa Jocelyn. Quel beau moment!  Un autre qui aura su faire vibrer les gens présent est Michael Richard. Partit de la 9ième position, le pilote de la voiture 3m fut lui aussi fumant. Parfois en haut, parfois en bas, Richard a su utiliser chaque centimètre disponible pour accompagner les 2 frères Racine sur le podium. Quelle magnifique finale!

Home Track Rockers Roll all Night at Peterborough Speedway

Central Ontario's best put it all on the line to wrap-up another month of the 2019 regular season – Saturday, July 27th – at Peterborough Speedway. Local runners in the hometown Mini Stock, Super Stock, Renegade Truck and Late Model divisions were joined by the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series and a pair of feature events for the Ontario Legends to thrill the crown at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road.


Andre Fiorini and Nicholas Ledson brought the field of 20 Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series teams to the line for their first of 2 feature events. Ledson took the early lead, with Kevin Foisy slipping into 3rd with a hat trick of laps on the board. The first caution flag – for a front stretch issue – put the pack back together with Ledson, Fiorini and Foisy taking off in a 3 car breakaway on the restart. The #15N was in control of the field for nearly the entire race distance – surrendering the top spot to Fiorini at lap 15 – and through lapped traffic to take the win. Foisy, Fiorini, Parker Traves and Kenny McNicol Jr. followed Ledson across the line to complete the top 5.


Kyle Batty and Mark Gordon brought the Late Model starting field to the Great Canadian RV green flag for 25 laps of feature action. Gordon took the early lead, with the division's current point leader Dan McHattie working the high and low lines to get closer to the front of the pack. As the field started getting through the backmarkers at the halfway point, McHattie was 3rd at lap 13 and Amanda Balson grabbed the lead a lap later. The race's lone caution flag – for a front stretch issue – brought everyone back together, with McHattie taking a lead he wouldn't surrender on the restart. Gordon, another impressive run by Jack Morgan, James Horner and Balson rounded-out the top 5.


Kenny McNicol Jr. and Kevin Foisy showed the way from the staging area for the 2nd Ontario Legends Series feature. A quick yellow flag flew before a single lap had been scored, necessitating a complete restart. McNicol had control of the field on the restart, with Ledson and Foisy hot on his tail. Ledson took over the lead with a handful of laps complete, as the field started to work through slower traffic with about 11 laps on the scoreboard. The yellow waved for a turn 2 incident with less than 10 laps remaining, creating an all-out fight for position. Ledson – a former series champion – had the right stuff all night and took the win over Foisy, Fiorini, Parker Traves and Dawson Drimmie.


With Dan Archibald and Tim Burke on the front row and 20 laps to settle the score, the KOD Disposal Super Stocks kicked-off their feature tilt. Archibald took the lead at the drop of the green, with Burke and a hard charging Mark Gordon – who was looking for his 4th straight win – looking to unseat the driver of the #07 machine. Even a yellow flag for a 4th turn wreck couldn't keep Archibald from the checkered flag. Gordon made it to the runner-up spot with Burke, Kyle Gordon and Tony Tiemersma chasing the lead duo across the line.

Hollingsworth and Rick Warnes led a breakaway from the inside line, as a 4 car battle for the 3rdposition was being waged behind them. Rob Warnes held it first, with Nick Lees taking the spot with a lap 6 pass. Lees and Chad Strawn were part of a 4 car fight for the lead, with Strawn taking the position on lap 11. John Baker Jr. used lapped traffic to his advantage to wrestle the lead away with a lap 21 pass and held-off Strawn for his 2nd with of the year. Dwight Brown, Lees and Alex Cuzzilla finished-out the fast 5.


Paul Boundy and Stacy Switzer brought the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck field from the staging area for a 20 lap feature event. Boundy used the inside line to take an early lead, but there was plenty of action in his rear-view mirror. With a handful of laps remaining on the scoreboard, Nicholas Ledson – who is sharing the #26 machine with Brad Lavalle this year – took the lead and scored his 3rd feature win of the night. Switzer, Alex McGibbon, Boundy and Bill O'Hara followed Ledson to the checkered flag.


Jassen Whyte and Nolan Gould showed the way as the Jiffy Lube Mini Stocks hit the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road. After watching the Modifieds and Renegade Trucks set the mark with caution-free features before them, there were big shoes to fill. Whyte and Gould ran side-by-side for the first 7 circuits of the 20 lapper before Gould found the break he'd been searching for. While the field worked through slower traffic, the #28 machine of Nolan Gould built-up a huge lead for the win. Ember Junkin slipped past Whyte for the runner-up spot, with Tiffany Vandebelt and Ryan Oosterholt next in the running order.


Late Model heats went to Mark Gordon, Kyle Batty and Dan McHattie with a pair. Jeffrey Remington, Dan Archibald, Tim Burke and Kyle Gordon. Alex Cuzzilla, Rick Warnes, Chad Strawn and Josh Gruntz took the opening rounds of Ontario Modifieds Racing Series action. Nicholas Ledson, Stacy Switzer, Bill O'Hara and Alex McGibbon scored the Renegade Truck qualifying wins, while Jeremy Kelly, Jassen Whyte, Neil Hannah and Nolan Gould claimed the Mini Stock heats.


All finishing positions are unofficial and subject to scoring review, as well as post race safety and technical inspection.


Bullring bullet points: Karl Dings of Plainfield, Ontario – just north of Belleville – won the 50/50 draw for $432.00…John Bates and 15-year-old go karting graduate Nathan Brooks made their stock car racing debut in the Mini Stock and Renegade Truck fields respectively, while James Horner and Stephen Bierworth had their first 2019 starts in the Late Model and Renegade Truck divisions…Tony Tiemersma took a turn at the controls of Howie Crowe's #28 Super Stock…Dave Riopelle and Paul Boundy each made hard contact with the retaining wall in their respective Ontario Legends and Super Stock features. Neither driver was injured, but their cars were through for the night.


This year's edition of the Hot August Nights Racing Series takes the green flag Saturday, August 3rd as the OSCAAR Modifieds and Pro Sprints join the fan favourite Bone Stock, Mini Stock teams and a 30 Super Stock qualifier for the Canadian Short Track Nationals; with a pre-race corn roast to kick-off the evening's action. Pit gates open at 2:00, with spectator grandstands unlocked at 4:00 and the night's first green flag at 6:00.

Ontario Legends Teams Take a Double Dip in the Peterborough Speedway Pool

Short track racing is all about making a point and with a pair of main events on the Saturday, July 27th line-up at Peterborough Speedway, teams with the www.trailersplus.net Ontario Legends Series were looking to score as many points as possible toward the 2019 tour championship.


After time trials were used to set the starting fields, Andre Fiorini and Nicholas Ledson brought the pack to the green flag for the opening 25 lapper. Ledson jumped out to the lead with just a couple of laps on the scoreboard, as Kevin Foisy slipped into the runner-up position. A yellow flag – for a front stretch incident – with a 5th of the race distance complete slowed the pace and brought everyone back in-touch with the leaders.


Ledson, Fiorini and Foisy enjoyed a 3-car breakaway on the restart, with Fiorini briefly taking the lead away from Ledson, who grabbed it back a lap later. Lapped traffic came into play with about 8 laps remaining, but no one could catch Ledson. Foisy, Fiorini, Parker Traves and Kenny McNicol Jr. completed the top 5. Adam Cuthbertson, Dave Riopelle, Mark Griffin, Dawson Drimmie, Cory Richardson, Jeff Forsey, Thomas Dunn, Zach Latimer, Rick Eades, Joe Sherman, Don Arnott, Glenn Morris, Cody Newell, Cole McFadden and Howard Bentley rounded-out the finishing order.


Kenny McNicol Jr. and Kevin Foisy paced the field to the line for the night's 2nd feature. McNicol Jr. was the early leader but surrendered the spot to Ledson with a handful of laps complete and Foisy on his back bumper.


The field caught the tail-end of the pack with 11 laps on the scoreboard, but a lap 17 yellow flag for a single car crash closed the racing ranks. Try as they might, no one could keep Ledson from sweeping the night's Legends Series main events. Foisy, Fiorini, Parker Traves and Dawson Drimmie chased the leader across the stripe. Adam Cuthbertson, McNicol Jr., Mark Griffin, Cory Richardson, Jeff Forsey, Rick Eades, Thomas Dunn, Joe Sherman, Glenn Morris, Howard Bentley, Don Arnott, Cole McFadden, Cody Newell, Dave Riopelle and Zach Latimer claimed the rest of the finishing positions.


Ontario Legends Series notebook: The tour continues its 2019 schedule with a pair of National Qualifiers – Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd – at Sauble Speedway. This year's edition of the Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals is August 16th through 17th at Sunset Speedway.
