Another season of holiday gift-giving is here and the motorsports enthusiast on your list would love to unwrap a pass for a year of action at Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval on Christmas morning. Peterborough Speedway has a variety of ticket packages and plans that will make it easy to tuck an exciting season of stock car racing under the tree or into the stocking of someone special.

Pick a 2017 season pass that includes 16 nights of action with OSCAAR, Chase for the Colours and the APC Pro Late Model tour stop and more for just $170.00. That's a saving of more than $48.00 at the box office. Or, you can choose the Super Season Pass, with all of the above – plus the 25tth annual Autumn Colours Classic – at only $210.00. That's more than $63.00 off the regular price. The promotional team at Peterborough Speedway can also put together a flexible plan, catered to the races you want to see the most. Just e-mail the track or call 705.743.5880 for prices and details.

If someone on your list has longed to climb behind the wheel of an authentic racing machine, the driving experience at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City is the perfect suggestion. Under the direction of J.P. Josiasse – whose background includes several seasons with ACT Late Models, selected dates on the APC Pro Late Model Tour and starts on the PASS Super Late Model Tour in the Southern United States – the program features a combination of classroom and on-track sessions that will satisfy the needs of any budding racing talent. For all the details, visitwww.peterboroughspeedway.com and select the 'driving experience' drop-down menu from the choices listed across the top of the screen on the home page.

The first green flag is a little less than 6 months away, but the level of excitement for the 50th anniversary schedule at Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval has already started to build. Fans are counting the days to another exciting season of action with the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car and Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Model divisions.

In addition to the home track's 5 weekly classes, the 2017 campaign will also include the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models and Modifieds, INEX Ontario Legends, Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series, Ontario Pro Challenge, Can Am TQ Midgets, Ontario Modifieds Racing Series and the APC Pro Late Models on selected Saturday nights. Be sure to check the track's web-site, Facebook page and Twitter feeds for all the off-season news and information.

He started the season watching the action with friends in Peterborough Speedway's 4th turn grandstands, but Michael Howe felt the racing urge and wound-up finishing 12th in the 2016 Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun point standings.
