WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil's Bowl Speedway officials have reached an agreement with the Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) and the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) to adjust the date of the second annual Fabian Earthmoving "Green Mountain Sprint Car Nationals" event.  The race will now be run on Sunday, September 25 at 5:00 p.m., one day later than originally scheduled, on the 3/10-mile Dirt Track at Devil's Bowl in West Haven, Vt.

The Green Mountain Sprint Car Nationals, co-sanctioned by SCoNE and ESS, is Vermont's biggest and richest open-wheel 360 Sprint Car event, with drivers from seven U.S. states and two Canadian provinces entered last year.  SCoNE champion Dan Douville won the inaugural race and collected a handsome purse of $4,050 and the coveted "Coastal Cup" trophy from Coastal 181 Publishing.

The date change alleviates scheduling conflicts with several race tracks and common racing classes in the area, as Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt., Fonda (N.Y.) Speedway, and New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H., all host major events on Saturday, September 24.

"We're glad that everything came together better this year to make the Nationals happen on Sunday.  We had hoped for Sunday last year, but it just didn't work out that way," Devil's Bowl promoter Mike Bruno said.  "We wanted to give fans and racers the ability to be part of more of the bigger late-season shows this year.  Bear Ridge has a 'King of Dirt' Series Modified race on Saturday night this year, a lot of fans enjoy the Tripleheader at Loudon that day, and Fonda is hosting a big event as well."

Pushing the Fabian Earthmoving Green Mountain Sprint Car Nationals to Sunday allows all of Devil's Bowl's weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions to compete in point-counting races, as the Central Vermont Motorcycles Sportsman Modifieds, Renegades, and Portland Glass Mini Stocks will join the program.  The move also creates a three-day big-money weekend for Sprint Car teams; in addition to the Devil's Bowl race, Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., hosts an ESS event on Friday night and Fonda Speedway has the Kramer Williamson Memorial on Saturday.  A weekend Sprint Car sweep would net the winner over $11,000 in total purse money.

Devil's Bowl Speedway's 50th season of racing opens on May 21-22 and includes a full schedule of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing for both its half-mile asphalt and 3/10-mile dirt tracks, totaling 27 events.

Devil's Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, Vt., four miles north of Exit 2 off of U.S. Route 4 and just 20 minutes from Rutland, Vt.  For more information, visit www.DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com or call (802) 265-3112.  Devil's Bowl Speedway is on Facebook at facebook.com/DevilsBowlSpeedway and on Twitter and Instagram at @DevilsBowlSpeed; follow the action using the #DevilsBowl hashtag.
