RÉACTIONS À L'ANNONCE DU CALENDRIER DE LA SÉRIE ACT

Laval, QC – 2014-11-28 – Aujourd'hui les dirigeants de la Série ACT ont annoncé leur cédule 2015. Un calendrier de 12 courses, qui présentera les compétiteurs sur six différents autodromes (5 au Québec et 1 au États-Unis) et à plusieurs fois en combo avec les compétiteurs du circuit américain ACT Tour.

Le plus grand changement est certainement l'ajout de Airborne Park Speedway (à Plattsburgh, NY) qui recevra la série à 3 reprises. Lors du Spring Green (l'ouverture), le Fall Foliage (la clôture de la saison) compteront vers le championnat Série ACT, tandis que l'international sera un événement hors championnat. Toutefois, ces trois courses compteront vers un deuxième championnat, une Triple Couronne. De la façon que les calendriers Série ACT et ACT Tour sont fait, les compétiteurs américains pourront se joindre au groupe des Québécois et courir pour le titre, ce qui sera un gros plus pour les spectateurs des deux côtés de la frontière. Les prix et bourses pour la Triple Couronne ne sont pas encore connus. Mais nous avons tout à croire qu'ils seront alléchants.

D'autres aspect positifs de cette cédule sont le retour à l'Autodrome St-Félicien après plusieurs années d'absence (une épreuve de 75, 75 et 100 tours), ainsi que le combo avec PRO ALL STAR SERIES (PASS) à l'Autodrome Chaudière (200 tours) en font un très bon calendrier.

Les compétiteurs seront en piste presque à chaque semaine, à l'exception de deux périodes plus tranquilles, aux mois de juin et août (avec seulement 2 courses à chaque mois). Cet agencement des calendriers permettra aux compétiteurs et spectateurs, qui le veulent, d'assister à des épreuves au sud de la frontière pour suivre la ACT Tour ou même des épreuves hors championnat. Le calendrier ACT Tour sera de 13 épreuves à 11 pistes.

RÉACTIONS AU CALENDRIER DE LA SÉRIE ACT

Laval, QC – 2014-11-28 – Today, Série ACT officials released their 2015 schedule. A 12- races schedule, in which, Série ACT will showcase their competitors at six different tracks and with multiple combo events with the US-based ACT Tour.

The Major highlight, and change, of the 2015 Série ACT will be the addition of Airborne Park Speedway events (3), which will also count towards an independent Triple Crown Championship. Two of these races will be Série ACT points counting events. The Spring green (the season opener) and the Fall Foliage (the season ending race). While, the third event of the Triple Crown, the ACT Invitational, will be a non point counting in the Série ACT Championship. The way the Série ACT and ACT Tour schedules are built, they will allow for US competitors to join the Quebec drivers and for a chase to the title, to the great benefit of fans on both sides of the border. Monies for this Triple Crown have yet to be announced. But we can expect this to be a nice incentive.

Other positive asapects to this schedule are the return to Autodrome St-Felicien after several years of absence (75, 75 and 100 lap segment race) and the previously announced combo event with the PRO ALL STAR SERIES (PASS) at Autodrome Chaudiere (200 laps) make this a very exciting schedule.

Racers will get to race pretty much every weekend, except for two gaps in the months of June and August (only 2 races in each month). This setup will allow Quebec based competitors and fans, that whish, to take in more races to travel South of the border and race in ACT Tour or non points counting events. The US-based sister tour will hold 13 events at 11 race tracks.

Waterbury, VT –Les responsables de l'American Canadian Tour ont annoncé un calendrier de douze (12) événements pour la saison 2015 de la Série ACT Québec, y compris plusieurs événements combinés avec la série ACT U.S. Le calendrier de 12 événements sera présenté sur six (6) pistes différentes dont une série spéciale de la Triple Couronne à l'Airborne Speedway de Plattsburgh, NY.

La saison 2015 débutera officieusement en février avec le retour de l'ACT au New Smyrna Speedway de la Floride le 16 et 17 pour évènement hors championnat de deux fois 100 tours. La bataille pour les points de la Série ACT va commencer et finir à l'Airborne Speedway incluera des arrêts à l'Autodrome St-Eustache, à l'Autodrome Chaudière, au Circuit Riverside Speedway, à l'Autodrome Mongtmagny et un retour à l'Autodrome St-Félicien

Le calendrier sera également mis en évidence par des évènements hors championnat comme le ACT Invitational au New Hampshire Motor Speedway, le Milk Bowl à Thunder Road et le ACT International, qui sera la deuxième épreuve de la triple couronne de la Série ACT.

Waterbury, VT – American Canadian Tour officials have announced a twelve (12) event schedule for the 2015 Serie ACT Quebec season, including several combination events with the ACT U.S. series. The 12 event schedule features events at six (6) different tracks including a special Triple Crown series at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY.

The 2015 season unofficially gets underway this February with the return of ACT to New Smyrna Speedway in Florida on the 16^th and 17^th for non-point counting Twin 100 events. The Serie ACT point battle will begin and end at Airborne Speedway and will include stops at Autodrome St-Eustache, Autodrome Chaudiere, Circuit Riverside Speedway, Autodrome Montmagny and a return to Autodrome St-Felicien.

The schedule is also highlighted by non-point counting events with the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the Milk Bowl at Thunder Road and the ACT International at Airborne as the second leg of the Serie ACT Triple Crown.

L'ASCVQ FÊTERA LA SAISON 2014

C'est ce samedi dans la salle de réception 67 située sur la rue Thibault à Trois-Rivières que les équipes de course de la série Vintage Québec participeront au souper de fin de saison annuel de l'ASCVQ.

Les dirigeants de la série, Patrick Verner et Josée Ratté accueilleront les pilotes et leurs équipiers, ainsi que l'équipe d'officiels et autres collaborateurs pour cette soirée au cours de laquelle, il y aura de l'animation ainsi que diverses activités pour rendre cette fête des plus agréable que possible pour les participants.

Cette soirée sera précédée en après midi d'une réunion des membres de l'ASCVQ au cours de laquelle on fera le post-mortem de la saison 2014, ainsi que des projections en vue de la saison 2015.

On sait que la Série Vintage Québec a visité 4 autodromes québécois et une piste ontariennne au cours des 7 manches de la dernière saison estivale. Il s'agit de l'Autodrome St-Eustache et l'Autodrome Chaudière à 2 reprises chacune, ainsi que le Riverside Speedway, l'Autodrome St-Félicien et le Capital City Speedway d'Ottawa pour une manche à chacune de ces pistes.

Les dirigeants de la série attendent donc leurs membres en grand nombre pour cette soirée méritas au cours de laquelle des trophées et autres souvenirs seront remis aux pilotes présents. Il y aura aussi le lancement de la Rétrospective annuelle de l'ANCA qui est consacrée, pour cette 19e parution annuelle, aux pilotes de l'ASCVQ avec photos et statistiques de la saison 2014.

Les Limités sous la bannière d'Automobiles Wendake inc. en 2015

C'est avec beaucoup d'enthousiasme que nous vous annonçons qu'Automobile Wendake par le biais de son propriétaire Michel Simoneau et de son directeur Steve Simoneau devient le commanditaire principal de la classe limité en 2015.

La famille Simoneau est impliquée dans le monde du Stock Car depuis plusieurs années. Michel Simoneau a piloté sur la défunte piste de Val Bélairen plus de s'impliquer de part et d'autre comme officiel et directeur de course. Quant à son fils Steve, nous avons pu le voir évoluer dans différente classe entre autre la classe Limité, la Série Sportsman Québec, ACT LMS et il est le vainqueur du championnat Procam pour la saison 2013. Depuis l'an dernier, nous pouvons aussi voir en piste le fils de ce dernier, Tommy dans la classe Mini Sportsman. Le jeune pilote de 10 ans s'est rapidement distingué et a gradué de la classe développement à la classe élite au cours de la saison dernière.

Steve Simoneau, qui a fait l'acquisition pendant la saison 2014 de l'ancienne voiture #100,5 de Stéphane Lecours revient en piste dans la classe limité. Sa voiture pourrait être conduite par un autre pilote aussi à quelques reprises dans la saison.

Ils ont à cœur le développement et la continuité de la classe Limité et c'est pourquoi ils ont décidé de devenir partenaire de cette classe. Ils aimeraient bien voir en piste sur une base régulière 12 à 15 pilotes pour la prochaine saison.

De plus, Automobile Wendake devient partenaire de l'Autodrome Chaudière 2014 inc en étant le commanditaire officiel de tous les podiums qui affichera donc leurs couleurs et leur logo.

Pour André Poulin, promoteur de l'Autodrome, c'est une fierté que d'être soutenu par une famille aussi présente dans le monde du Stock Car à Québec et soucieux d'assurer la pérennité des classes locales et de la relève.

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Airborne Park Speedway has taken another step toward the future, as Mike Bruno has joined the track's business ownership group. Bruno served as the Competition Director at Airborne in 2014 and will expand on that role moving forward; he has partnered with Jamie Atkins and Steve Fuller to form the ownership group.

Effective immediately, Bruno will take over day-to-day business operations as the track's General Manager, while Atkins will step back from the daily operations and take on a support role. Bruno co-owns and promotes Devil's Bowl Speedway in Vermont with his wife, Alayne, and says that the two tracks will continue building on a partnership that began last season.

"I obviously have a deep interest in the success of Devil's Bowl, but I also want to see Airborne thrive. We made big strides this year and I'm excited for the future," Bruno said. "The two tracks share a lot of the same competitors and fans, and both are part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, so it just makes sense to take this next step. Airborne has always been one of my home tracks and I'm just as committed to its growth as I am to Devil's Bowl's."

Nearly the entire core staff at Airborne remains intact including administrator Peg Bombard, technical inspector Bob Miller, and many other key contributors, though Sherm Hamel – the interim general manager in 2014 – has transitioned out of the company.

"We are all committed to growing Airborne now and for the future," Jamie Atkins said. "Our team of officials and employees really jelled this summer, and we know that Mike Bruno and some of the Devil's Bowl staff were an important part of turning the entire business around. We're moving in a positive direction and we're very enthusiastic about continuing that trend toward a bright future."

ACT Will Visit 11 Different Tracks in 2015

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour Late Models will visit 11 different tracks throughout New England, New York and Quebec during the 13 event 2015 season. Officials have announced the schedule, which will kick off on Sunday, April 12 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH and crown a champion on Saturday, October 17 at Thompson Speedway in Thompson, CT.

The ACT Late Models visit two new tracks in 2015. ACT will run their first ever point counting events at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jct., QC as a doubleheader with PASS in September and the Late Models will visit Thompson for the first time ever to conclude the season in October.

ACT will also return to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME for two events after a several year hiatus. The April Oxford event will be the inaugural ACT/PASS doubleheader event, while the June event will be a stand alone ACT race. Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY will be the only other venue to host two events in 2015. The schedule is highlighted by trips to Thunder Road in Barre, VT, Speedway 51 (formerly Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH), Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT, White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME and Circuit Riverside Speedway in St-Croix, QC.

The 2015 season will also feature several non-point counting special events. The first will be this February 16-17, when the stars of ACT head to New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida for the American Racer Twin 100s. Other special events include the ACT International at Airborne, which will see doubleheader 200s with the PASS series, the 7^th Annual Bond ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH and the 53^rd running of the Milk Bowl at Thunder Road in Barre, VT.

Adam Cuthbertson Sets His Sights on Something Better Than Second Best

Growing up, most people were taught that it didn't matter if they won or lost, as long as they tried their best. It's a great idea in theory, but almost impossible to put into practice.

Adam Cuthbertson is used to winning races. With the 2009 and 2010 Ontario Legends Series point championships on his resume, the 27 year old is no stranger to posing for photos in victory lane. Even though he has yet to claim a main event checkered flag in Peterborough Speedway's Late Model division, the native of Uxbridge – who now makes his home in Omemee, Ontario with wife, Sarah – says he knows it's only a matter of time before he makes an appearance in the winner's circle at the tight, tricky circuit known as Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval.

"We've just finished our second season in the Late Model and the races we ran in 2013 – even though we finished 7^th in points – were more about getting used to the bigger, heavier and faster car than they were about charging to the front," said Cuthbertson. "Being able to earn a runner-up finish in the points a couple of years after our first green flag speaks volumes for the equipment the team was able to give me week after week; especially with such a deep talent pool in the division."

Away from the track, Adam Cuthbertson enjoys adrenaline-building hobbies like water skiing, downhill skiing and hunting. He describes the rush he gets there in the same vein as the challenge that comes with strapping-in behind the wheel of his racecar. The driver who has scored at least one main event checkered flag on every track on the Legends Series says his main goal is to improve week after week, race after race.

"My career is where it is today because of what I did in the other division," said Cuthbertson, who works as an aircraft mechanical engineer at Flying Colours Corporation. "I had some excellent runs with my brother Wes and the others over the years. I think it's only a matter of time before we're able to transition the level of success we had in the Legends Series to our Late Model program."

Like most competitors in the world of short track motorsports, Adam Cuthbertson's program has a strong contingent of family, friends and fans who regularly step-up to the plate to offer their support. Behind the scenes and at the racetrack, his equipment is prepared and maintained by his father and crew chief, Andrew Cuthbertson, brother in-law Jeff McKibbon, Andrew Laba, Wes Cuthbertson and raceday spotter Rick Cook. The car's number is derived from 179, used by his uncle as a snowmobile racer and then shortened to 79 on the Legend car and revised again to the #17 he uses today.

Le pilote le plus amélioré de la saison 2014, le #22 Louis-Philippe Labrecque de retour pour 2015

La saison 2014 fût assurément pour l'équipe Labrecque Racing Team une de réussite. Terminant au 6^e rang au classement général et montant à 3 reprises sur le podium lors des 10 épreuves, le #22 Louis-Philippe Labrecque s'est vu octroyer par vote des pilotes et des officiels de la Série non seulement le prix du pilote le plus amélioré mais aussi celui du meilleur esprit sportif.

Une équipe familiale composée de son fils, son frère, son cousin ainsi que des amis proches; une équipe tissée serrée. Questionné à savoir qu'est-ce qui a permis à Labrecque de connaître une telle saison, son frère Éric mentionne l'importance des conseils apportées par DGR.

« À la fin de la saison 2013, nous avons suivis les conseils de DGR et apporter des modifications à la voiture. Une fois en piste, nous avons travaillé sur la ligne de course durant les pratiques afin d'être dans les temps » souligne Éric Labrecque. Bien entendu, sans aucune prétention, ils se garderont la prérogative de ne pas tout divulger !

En début de saison, l'équipe s'était fixée des objectifs réalistes et compte bien répéter le tout. Ce sont des passionnés qui ont le désir d'être compétitif tout en respectant les autres équipes et pilotes et leur prix le prouve. Les courses, c'est un hobby, un loisir qu'il faut pratiquer avant tout dans le plaisir.

Qu'est-ce qu'ils retiennent de 2014?

Le trio parfait ; 3 podiums sur 3 pistes différentes en 3 programmes de suite ! Le 1^ier podium à l'Autodrome Chaudière , alors qu'au début de la course il était 17ieme et termine sur la deuxième marche, le 2ieme podium à l'Autodrome Montmagny alors qu'au dernier tour dans la courbe #2, il était 4ieme dépassant par l'intérieur la voiture #7 pour finir la course en 3ieme position et finalement, le 3ieme podium sur le Circuit ICAR; partie et fini 1^ier lors de la 1iere course et fini 2ieme au cumulatif des 2 courses. Je vous confirme que ces souvenirs, ces détails, ils sont gravés dans leur tête et dans leur cœur.

Que pouvons-nous leur souhaites pour 2015?

Toujours à la recherche de nouveaux commanditaires, l'équipe entrevoit la saison 2015 d'un bon œil. Ils veulent faire l'ensemble des programmes de la saison; toujours se fixer des objectifs réalistes et qui sait, tenir en main enfin le fameux damier !

PASS Finalizes 2015 South Super Late Model And Pro Late Model Dates

CHARLOTTE, NC (November 24) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today that the 2015 schedules have been finalized for both the PASS South Super Late Model and PASS Pro Late Model divisions. With 15 dates confirmed, including a final event to be added in October, the PASS South Super Late Models will compete at 11 different venues in 4 states over the course of the 2015 season.

"Due to some circumstances out of our control, we had to move a couple of dates around and wanted to get our schedule finalized as quickly as possible so our teams can start planning for next year," said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "We believe this is one of the strongest schedules we have ever put together and are excited about the possibilities 2015 presents for the South's top Super and Pro Late Models."

The PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models will now compete at both Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina and the Caraway Speedway in North Carolina twice each in 2015. Anderson Motor Speedway will host both PASS divisions on Saturday, March 21, featuring a 150 lap event for the PASS South Super Late Models. This is in addition to the previously announced Electric City 125 that will be held at Anderson on Friday night, June 19.

Caraway Speedway will once again host the PASS South Super Late Models on Saturday, November 7 for the always popular North-South Shootout, but the speedway will now host two PASS events for the first time since 2013. The PASS South Super Late Models will be featured in the Piedmont Pride 150 on Saturday night, July 25, along with the PASS Pro Late Models as they return to Caraway Speedway.

PASS is currently in negotiations for an event on either Saturday, October 17 or Saturday, October 24. Additional details will be coming soon once that event has been confirmed.

Look for schedules for the PASS North Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds, PASS Sportsman to be released in the near future.

And, don't forget, the biggest short track race on asphalt has a new date in 2015. The 42^nd Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine will take the green on Sunday, August 30, 2015, paying $25,000 to the winner plus lap leader bonus money.

The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America's premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as the legendary Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway, PASS South's Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway, and the La Qubecoise Triple Crown at Autodrome Chaudiere.
