PROGRAMME DU SAMEDI 15 JUILLET, SOIRÉE "BUDWEISER"

C'est samedi prochain en soirée que les activités reprendront dans les classes locales de l'autodrome. Dans la classe-vedette des Nascar Late Model, il y aura 2 finales de 50 tours dont la reprise de la finale du 3 juin qui sera présentée en tout début de programme et l'autre sera précédée de 2 qualifications de 12 tours selon l'horaire habituel. Les 2 finales sont indépendantes pour les bourses et points. Dans cette catégorie, la lutte est très serrée pour les trois premières places au classement entre le #1 de Steve Côté avec 94 points, le #41 Samuel Charland 92 points et le #75 Marco Bilodeau 82 points. La compétition devrait être encore très enlevante si l'on se rapporte à la dernière finale du dimanche 2 juillet qui a été fort spectaculaire.

En classe Nascar Semi-Pro, nous assisterons à une finale de 25 tours précédée d'une qualification de 12 tours. Le meneur au classement est le #48 de Yves Perreault avec 127 points suivi du #83 de Vincent Vachon avec 117 points et du #40 de Kenny Jacques avec 106 points. Nous espérons le retour de plusieurs compétiteurs qui ont été absents lors du dernier programme, la remise due à la pluie n'aidant sûrement pas. Nous avons quand même eu une très belle finale le 2 juillet dernier.

Dans la classe Nascar Sport Compact Élite, il y aura une finale de 25 tours précédée d'une qualification de 12 tours. Le classement est mené par le #75 de Steve Godbout avec 102 points et très serré pour les 2e et 3e places entre le #4 de Jimmy Gagné 89 points, le #91 d'Alex Houle 85 points et le #51 de Jeff Côté avec 85 points lui aussi. Comme toujours, nous assisterons à de très belles courses dans cette classe avec une compétition très forte entre tous les participants.

Pour la classe Nascar Sport Compact Amateur, ils feront les frais d'une qualification de 12 tours suivie d'une finale de 20 tours. Dans ce groupe le #27 de Mikael Giroux mène le classement avec 101 points suivi du #17 de Johnny Giroux 90 points et du #91 de Gabriel Linteau 87 points. Assisterons-nous encore à la domination des "Mini" talonnées de près par Linteau, Poulin, Grondin et les autres? Cette classe nous donne tout un spectacle cette année avec une très belle compétition et un nombre important de voitures.

Donc un très beau programme de courses dans nos classes locales "Nascar" vous attend à l'Autodrome Chaudière ce samedi 15 juillet à compter de 18:30.

LE ACT LAPOINTE AUTO MONTMAGNY 100

ACT 100

Quatrième manche de la Série ACT samedi le 22 juillet prochain à l'Autodrome Montmagny dans le cadre du ACT Lapointe Auto Montmagny 100. 

Suite à la victoire de Patrick Laperle à l'Autodrome St-Eustache le 8 juillet dernier, trois différents pilotes ont gravi la première marche du podium. Soit Theetge, Bouvrette et Laperle.

Les Labbé, Gagnon, Leclerc, Cliche, Gaudreault, Roussinont tous soif de victoires, mais un plus que les autres, soitDany Trépannier  qui a atteint le podium aux trois premières courses avec une deuxième et deux troisièmes places. Il vise la plus haute marche du podium et va tout mettre en œuvre  pour y arriver. Le classement est très serré et toute une course se dessine pour l'obtention du quadrillé final.

PROCAM 60

Une finale de 60 tours en 2 segments de 30 tours successifs en plus de la présentation des pilotes avec surprises et cartes photos autographiées attend les amateurs présents. Steve Simoneau avec ses 322 points n'a plus que six points d'avance sur la recrue Martin Bisson avec 316. Suivent Jimmy Roy à 300, Stéphane Lecours à 297 et la recrue Sylvain Denis à 294.

Sportsman Qc 50

Cinquante tours avec jaune au 26ième passage et 10 points au premiers en décalant de 1 jusqu'à un. Seulement 12 points distancent le meneur, Samuel Charland mène le classement avec 12 points  de priorité  sur  DominicJacques, champion 2015.

Sport Compact Élite ORICOM

Deux finales de 30 tours en segments de quinze tours chaque attendent les pilotes de cette classe. Maxime Gagné mène le bal avec 782 points, trente de mieux que Louis-Philippe Lauzier. Une chaude lutte pour la 3ième position entre Blanchette, Livernoche et Labbé Pelletier avec seulement 9 points d'écart.

Hobby

Cindy Vallières de Québec pourra-t-elle conserver son 1errang devant les Légaré, Bernier, Darveau, Lambert, Charest, Despont et autres.

Un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer, samedi le 22 juillet avec l'ouverture des puits à 12.30, les finales vers 18.00 et le100 tours ACT vers 21.00. 

Des surprises attendent les amateurs lors de la présentation des pilotes Procam Super truck et ACT propulsé par Lapointe Auto Montmagny.

The 50th Anniversary Season at Peterborough Speedway has quickly become one of the most popular attractions in Central Ontario. Action at the venue known as Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval returns with the Mid-Summer Bash – Saturday, July 22nd– presented by Country 105. This week's special event is a 50-lap feature event for the home track Thunder Car division, with Jiffy Lube Mini Stocks, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Trucks, Organics & Glass Late Models and Ontario Modifieds Racing Series classes also on the agenda.

 

"The extra-distance features are a hit with the fans and the drivers," said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. "We have folks who are hard-core supporters of all our classes. Some people love the action and excitement of the 4Fun teams, while others are caught-up in the thrills of the Mini Stock bunch. The Late Models have their cheering section and Saturday night, we'll conclude the 50thAnniversary 50 lapper series with the Thunder Car division."

 

For the Saturday, July 22nd program, pit gates will open at 3:00, with the general admission grandstands unlocked at 5:00and the night's first qualifying heat rolling to the Great Canadian RV green flag at 6:00.

 

Looking ahead on the schedule finds the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Thunder Car, Organics & Glass Late Model and Trailers Plus Eastern Ontario Legend divisions in action Saturday, July 29th. The 2017 Hot August Nights Series begins Saturday, August 5th with the Touring Chase for the Colours Pole Qualifier. On track action includes the OSCAAR Super Late Model, Modified, Midget and Pro Midget divisions, along with the home track 4Fun and Mini Stock classes. There will also be a pre-race corn roast. Toronto (Ontario, Canada), 16 juillet 2017 – C'est avec engouement que se termine le week-end à Toronto pour l'équipe #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin a réalisé son deuxième podium de la saison. Il était persuadé que la voiture serait meilleure en fin d'épreuve et particulièrement avec une relance dans les derniers tours. C'est exactement ce qui s'est passé. En seconde place lors de la dernière relance, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin a su défendre sa position jusqu'à la fin.

 

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin a qualifié la voiture #47 WeatherTechCanada / Groupe Bellemare en septième position hier. A 1,2 seconde de la pole, avec son chef d'équipe Bill Burns, ils ont analysé les réglages afin de gagner en vitesse. Les dépassements stratégiques ont été effectués avec brio et sans accrochages.

 

« Nous sommes très contents pour l'équipe. La voiture ne se comportait pas comme nous voulions lors des qualifications. Bill Burns et les équipiers ont travaillé fort pour que nous puissions nous battre dans le top-5. Notre ratio dans la transmission tout autour de la piste n'était pas comme nous le voulions, toutefois, nous étions efficaces dans les relances. Les circonstances ont joué en notre faveur et nous avons terminé sur le podium. Nous devons continuer d'optimiser les réglages pour revenir en force au Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières », mentionne celui qui occupe maintenant la troisième position au classement des pilotes.

Jean-François et Louis-Philippe Dumoulin participeront à une séance d'autographes organisée par leur partenaire le Delta Bessborough le 24 juillet prochain de 16 h30 à 17h30. Les remorques et les voiture #04 Spectra Premium / Bernier Crépeau/ Groupe Bellemare /MIA et #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare du champion 2014 de la Série NASCAR Pinty's seront également sur place. Les amateurs de course et médias sont invités à rencontrer les pilotes et prendre des photos (en face de l'entrée principale du Delta Bessborough).

22 RACING ENJOYS SUCCESSFUL TORONTO WEEKEND
 
 
July 16, 2017:  The biggest event on the 2017 NASCAR Pinty's Series schedule, the Pinty's Grand Prix of Toronto is now in the books and it was a considered a successful one by 22 Racing. 
 
Friday started out with qualifying and the 22 Racing teams didn't disappoint.  Alex Tagliani in the #18 EpiPen/Lowes Canada/St-Huberts Dodge topped the charts with Marc Antoine Camirand in the #22 GM Paille Chevrolet following in 3rd and Adam Andretti in the #44 Engineering Components/Anchor Bolt & Screw Dodge posting the 4th quickest time.
 
The teams then went to work preparing all three cars for qualifying later in the afternoon.  NASCAR deemed there to be three qualifying groups and all three team cars were in the final and quickest group set by practice times earlier in the day.  When the dust settled the three teams were again all in the top 5 with Tagliani leading the way in 2nd, Andretti 4th and Camirand 5th. 
 
After having contact with the wall in the final stages of qualifying, Andretti's team and the rest of the 22 Racing crews went to work to fix the #44 entry.  It took all hands-on deck but they were able to make the necessary repairs for Saturdays Pinty's Grand Prix.
 
Due to a late arrival for the drivers meeting Andretti was penalized and moved to the rear of the starting field for the 35-lap event but mot to be deterred Andretti took the challenge to heart.
 
At the drop of the green Tagliani was immediately on the bumper of Ranger and unfortunately early contact sent Tagliani to the pits for a drive through penalty for aggressive driving.  Not to be deterred he returned to the track in 5th position.  By lap seven Camirand had moved his #22 Chevy into second position and #44 Andretti was picking off competitors and moving up through the field. Shortly thereafter Andretti was forced to the pits with a flat tire under green flag conditions.  By the half way mark Camirand was still strongly in 2ndwith a good lead over Tagliani in 3rdand Andretti had worked his way forward for the second time and was being scored in 8th.  With around 10 to go Tagliani slowed on the track and a track bar failure was determined to be the cause. He was able to stay on track and do slow laps but his hopes for a good finish were done.  Shortly thereafter Camirand while trying to find a way to get around Lacroix for the lead brushed the wall and then headed for the pits and his day was done.  In the meantime, Andretti was slowing picking off his competitors and when the green flag flew for the final restart he was in fourth.  Andretti made quick work of passing Labbe for 3rd but in his own words later he had used up the car pretty good coming from the back twice.  Final finishes #44 Andretti in third, #18 Tagliani in 14th and #22 Camirand in 16th.
 
"Wow" said Andretti after the race. "Unfortunately it was my mistake that put us to the tail and I really hate that for 22 Racing after they thrashed so hard to get the car perfect after our mishap in qualifying. We started at the back of the field and we had fought hard to get about half way through the pack and had a right rear tire go flat under green.  We caught a great break on getting a caution right away afterwards but firstly the pit stop was lightning fast – I wasn't even ready to go.  I was fully expecting to go a lap down but we got back out and the caution flew soon after getting us caught up to the back of the field again. We just had to put our heads down and put all our back luck behind us and then the good luck started to come.  I can't say enough about the NASCAR Pinty's Series and the racing and its competitors and the 22 Racing team and all their supporters and sponsors that make it possible.  It was a very special day for Engineered Components who support me and Anchor Bolt & Screw and we are looking forward to doing some more of this NASCAR Pinty's Series stuff and working with 22 Racing more in the future.  This was a great way to start our relationship."
 
"As a team owner what more can you really ask for." stated Scott Steckly after the race weekend.  "We had all three of them in the top five for practice and qualifying. We had three drivers and cars that were all capable of winning or being on the podium at least who all ran in the top three during the day.  I'm very pleased with our weekend and the potential for future wins and podiums for this great group of drivers and crew members."
 
The Pinty's GP on the Streets of Toronto will air on TSN on Saturday July 22 at 2 p.m. ET and on RDS on August 6th at 2 p.m. ET
 
Next on the calendar for the 22 Racing Team will be the annual western swing with the kickoff event at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon on Wednesday July 26th where the feature events will be two 100 lap races. Then on to Edmonton International Raceway on Saturday July 29th for the Luxxor 300.  Donald Theetge will be back behind the wheel of the #22 Dodge while Tagliani will look to get back in the win column this year as he defends his 2016 win here.

Barre, Vt. – Thunder Road enters the heart of its midsummer schedule this Thursday, July 20with FairPoint Communications Night. As the season nears its halfway point, many teams will be jockeying for championship position in what is shaping up to be an action-packed evening of racing.

 

Round two of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series for the Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers will highlight the full card of racing. The extended distance feature will award both Triple Crown and Thunder Road weekly points, putting a premium on a good performance for all contenders.

 

"You have a different mindset in these longer races," Triple Crown Series point leader Jason Woodard said. "75 or 100 laps allow you to give that extra two to three lifts if you have to – you don't have to just go charging to the front as soon as the green flag drops. Obviously you have to make your way forward, but you don't have to use everything up at the beginning of the race to do it. It's more a mindset of being there at the end. I've got the car to do it, so we have some luck, I think we'll be there again."

 

Woodard was the winner of the Triple Crown opener on June 22, while Wolcott's Brendan Moodie tops the weekly Flying Tiger standings on the strength of seven top-five finishes in eight events. Morrisville's Dwayne Lanphear sits second in weekly points and is tied for sixth in the Triple Crown Series, while Hardwick's Jaden Perry, Craftsbury Common's Mike Martin, and Grand Isle's Joe Steffen are also in the hunt for one or both titles. Trevor Lyman, Jamon Perry, and Jason Pelkey have all won races in 2017 and could add another trophy to their collection.

 

Fairpoint Night also marks the much-anticipated return of the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors to the Barre high banks. The entry-level division, which previously competed from 2003 to 2011 as the Junkyard Warriors, will make their season debut as part of a six-race schedule. A number of drivers have already registered for the division with the potential for more on Thursday.

 

The Thunder Road Late Models and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will be in action as well. In the Late Models, Hinesburg's Bobby Therrien holds a 14-point edge over Vermont Governor's Cup winner Trampas Demers of South Burlington. Milton's Eric Chase and Scott Dragon along with Barre's Jason Corliss are within striking distance while Westford's Darrell Morin has come on strong in recent weeks.

 

The Street Stock title chase remains hotly contested as five drivers sit within 11 points of the top spot. 2015 Champion Jamie Davis of Wolcott has a one-point advantage over Fairfax's Alan Maynard with Hardwick's Will Hennequin, Morrisville's Brandon Lanphear, and Duxbury's Reilly Lanphear completing the top-five.

 

The jam-packed Fairpoint Communications Night program goes to post at 7:00pm on Thursday, July 20. The evening will also feature a send-off ceremony recognizing United States Women's National Ice Hockey team member Amanda Pelkey as the Montpelier native begins preparations for the 2018 Winter Olympics. The pits open at 3:30pm and the front gates open at 5:15pm. Admission is just $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $25 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).
