NASCAR, NBC Sports Announce 2022 Grassroots Racing Coverage on USA Network

All Races from the ARCA Menards Series East and West, and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour to Air Tape-Delayed on USA Network

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2022– NASCAR and NBC Sports announced today broadcast coverage for the 2022 slate of grassroots races on USA Network, including events in the ARCA Menards Series East and West, and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

 

USA Network will air tape-delayed coverage of every race from the three series – except those that are combined ARCA Menards Series events – for a total of 30 race broadcasts. All televised coverage on USA Network will stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

 

All races from the ARCA Menards Series East and West (when not combined with ARCA Menards Series events), and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will air live on FloRacing.

 

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour

The season kicked off with the New Smyrna Visitors Bureau 200 at New Smyrna Speedway on Feb. 12. USA Network begins its grassroots coverage with a tape-delayed broadcast of the event on Friday, Feb. 25 at 12 p.m. ET.

 

ARCA Menards Series East

The 2022 campaign started with the Race to Stop Suicide 200 at New Smyrna Speedway on Tuesday, Feb. 15. USA Network will provide tape-delayed coverage of the event on Friday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. ET.

 

ARCA Menards Series West

The NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Irwindale Speedway marks the first USA Network race of the season for the ARCA Menards Series West. It will air live on FloRacing on Saturday, March 26 at 10:05 p.m. ET before USA Network provides tape-delayed coverage on Friday, April 1 at 1 p.m. ET.

NASCAR Partners with Stepp’s Towing Service, Inc. for Track Recovery Services


Stepp's to supply towing and wrecker vehicles for NASCAR national series events

Daytona Beach, FL (February 9, 2022) – National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC (NASCAR®) announced today an official partnership with Stepp's Towing Service, Inc., a Florida-based company that has been designated the Official Track Recovery Service Partner of NASCAR.

 

Stepp's Towing Service will provide towing and wrecker vehicles for a majority of NASCAR Cup Series™, NASCAR Xfinity Series™ and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series™ events. NASCAR's Track Services team members began training with the vehicles last month, working in conjunction with the American Medical Response safety team.

 

"Recovery response is a critical part of NASCAR, allowing us to safely host events without taking away from the excitement and competition that fans are used to seeing on the track each week," said Mike Phillips, Managing Director of Track Services, NASCAR. "The addition of Stepp's Towing Service gives our on-track recovery teams the support they'll need to continue providing a best-in-class on-track response throughout the season."

NASCAR and NACE Starleague Bring Sim Racing to College Campuses Nationwide


The eNASCAR College iRacing Series will launch this month with three-race schedule

 

Daytona Beach, FL (February 15, 2022) – College students nationwide will have the chance to compete at Daytona International Speedway - virtually that is. National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC (NASCAR®) and NACE Starleague, the largest collegiate esports league in North America, announced today the launch of the eNASCAR College iRacing Series, bringing competitive sim racing to more than 500 colleges and universities nationwide.

 

The new series will be presented by NASCAR Official Partners Coca-Cola, Logitech, Playseat and Southern Computer Warehouse.

 

"Gaming and Esports are an important component of NASCAR, allowing us to reach new fans who are often engaging with the sport for the first time," said Nick Rend, Managing Director of Gaming and Esports, NASCAR. "Our various eNASCAR initiatives have seen exponential growth. We felt this was the right time to extend our reach to a younger audience and launch the eNASCAR College iRacing Series to show students the opportunities that sim racing and our sport hold for them."

 

More than 10,000 students will have the option to compete in the eNASCAR College iRacing Series through NACE Starleague, which was established in 2021 as a strategic partnership between the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and CSL Esports, a Playfly Sports Company.

 

"It is paramount for CSL Esports and Playfly Sports to continue growing and expanding within NACE Starleague," said Rob Johnson, CEO, CSL Esports. The 2022 season opens on Thursday, February 24 with the Playfly Sports 30 race at Daytona International Speedway. Qualifying takes place now through Monday, February 21. The top 40 students who post the fastest qualifying times will advance to the race with the eNASCAR Scholarship Fund awarding the highest finishers a combined $50,000 in scholarships throughout the calendar year.

 

Students will compete with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series vehicles emblazoned with their school branding. Competition will be led via iRacing.com, the official simulation partner of NASCAR, which provides one of the top online racing simulation portals and features officially-sanctioned, laser-scanned replicas of race tracks around the world.
