'Behind the Wall: Bubba Wallace' to Premiere February 15; Rookie Set to Become First African-American Driver in DAYTONA 500 Since 1969

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 13, 2018) – As Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr. prepares to make history in the 2018 DAYTONA 500, fans can follow his inspirational journey to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in "Behind the Wall: Bubba Wallace," a new docu-series coming soon to Facebook Watch.

The first episode in the original series will post on Thursday, February 15, NASCAR Digital Media and Facebook announced today. Fans can view the trailer and add the show to their Watchlists by following the Behind the Wall: Bubba Wallace show Page.

On Sunday, Feb. 18, Wallace will become the first African American since 1969 to drive in NASCAR's most iconic race, the DAYTONA 500 (2:30 p.m. ET on FOX).

The eight-part series was produced by NASCAR Productions and will chronicle Wallace's road to Daytona International Speedway – from his earliest racing days to his debut in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series as the new fulltime driver of the No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Petty Motorsports.

"It's been wild to have this entire journey documented leading into the DAYTONA 500," said Wallace. "It's cool to finally see it all come together. I've watched a few episodes and it's awesome.

It really shows how much preparation is going into my first year racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with Richard Petty Motorsports and the famed '43.' This is something a little out of the box that's great for fans."

The series follows Wallace in the months and weeks leading up to the 2018 season, including encounters with team owner and NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Richard Petty, Charlotte Hornets rookie Malik Monk and close friend and fellow NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney.

Two episodes will air per day from Thursday through Saturday in the lead-up to the 60th running of the DAYTONA 500, while the series' final two episodes will be available next week. One of the more popular drivers on social media, Wallace will interact with his fans live on Facebook as the series unfolds.

"Bubba Wallace is a burgeoning superstar in NASCAR, and his story is one that brings inspiration to so many people," said Evan Parker, NASCAR managing director, content strategy. "With Facebook Watch, we're thrilled to present Bubba's journey to the DAYTONA 500 and the highest echelon of our sport in a completely new and innovative way."

Prior to graduating to NASCAR's top series, Wallace competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In October 2013, he won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway to become the first African-American driver to win a NASCAR national series race since NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Wendell Scott in 1963.

NASCAR Fans to Race Live on Social Media in Sunday's Hashtag 500

'Daytona Day' Promotion Gives Fans the Chance to Win Memorabilia from the

2018 DAYTONA 500 Live During the Race

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 12, 2018) – As the countdown continues to Daytona Day, NASCAR® today announced the return of the Hashtag 500, where fans will race on social media for a chance to win memorabilia from the 60th running of the DAYTONA 500® live during the race on February 18.

To compete in the Hashtag 500, fans can watch the DAYTONA 500 on FOX (2:30 p.m. ET) and follow @NASCAR on Twitter to find custom hashtags that give fans a chance to win race items including a driver firesuit, helmet, steering wheel, set of Goodyear tires and more.

NASCAR will share a new hashtag every 20 laps of the race. The first 500 @NASCAR followers that tweet the hashtag and #DAYTONA500 will be entered in a random drawing for each prize.

The final Hashtag 500 race winner will receive a grand prize trip for two to the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Miami.

"In less than a week, Daytona International Speedway will host some of the most intense, side-by-side racing we've ever seen," said Jill Gregory, NASCAR senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "With the Hashtag 500, we're once again extending the competition to our fans on social media and creating yet another fun way to engage with the Great American Race on Daytona Day."

Beginning today through Saturday, Feb. 17, fans can practice for the Hashtag 500 by competing in daily races on Instagram for a chance to win unique, personal items from Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers.

Daily prizes will include a Jimmie Johnson replica race helmet, a pair of sunglasses from Kyle Busch, a commemorative champagne bottle from Austin Dillon's wedding and an autographed drum cover from series rookie Darrell Wallace Jr., who will make his DAYTONA 500 debut on Sunday

The first 500 fans to comment with the custom hashtag on NASCAR's Instagram posts will be entered to win each day's Hashtag 500 driver prize.

The first Hashtag 500 took place during the 2016 DAYTONA 500. The unique promotion generated massive fan engagement and broke numerous NASCAR social media records – including total tweets in a single minute (13,000).

This year, the unique promotion is one of several social and digital media experiences offered by NASCAR to elevate the sport's 2018 season launch for fans.

The all-new NASCAR Fantasy Live, enhanced to mirror NASCAR's official scoring system, is now open for league and team registration at NASCAR.com/fantasy. Beginning Sunday, fantasy players will be able to swap drivers in and out of their "garage" live during Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races.

This week, NASCAR Mobile will debut the sport's first augmented reality experience for app users. Fans can position race-themed items like driver helmets and Goodyear tires within their camera frames and share the images with friends on social media.

On Sunday, Snapchat will cover the DAYTONA 500 with its Our Story feature to give millions of users around the world an inside look at race day from Daytona International Speedway.

For more information on the Hashtag 500, fans can visit NASCAR.com/hashtag500 beginning later today.

Strickler Wins The Money; Hoffman Wins His Third Consecutive DIRTcar Nationals Title

DIRTcar UMP Modifieds wrap up their portion of the 47th Annual DIRTcar Nationals

BARBERVILLE, FL — Feb. 11, 2018 — The $5,000-to-win Big Gator Championships for the ironmen of the 47th Annual DIRTcar Nationals, the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds was on Monday, February 12th. For the past seven days, the Modifieds have raced every night of the week as their marathon week of races within the DIRTcar Nationals came to an end. Two-time defending DIRTcar Nationals Champion, Nick Hoffman came into the night needing to finish fourth or better to claim his third straight DIRTcar UMP Modifieds Gator Championship. Hoffman would go on to finish second to Big Gator Championship Feature winner, Kyle Strickler who earned a $5,000 payday while Hoffman won his third straight DIRTcar Nationals title.

"We had a good racecar all week long. We battled some adversity earlier in the week with the car falling off the trailer. But we never finished out of the top three the whole time. We didn't win the Championship, but we got the Big Gator for winning five grand," Smiled the 33-year-old driver of the #8 Longhorn Chassis entry. "We've been surrounded by Elite cars are week long. But we never gave up. These guys are just so good, but the results showed how good we are too. It takes some long hours to do this. It's nice though to put this Longhorn ahead of all those Elites, especially tonight." Added the driver originally from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. For the week, Strickler won, finished second and third twice each.

For Hoffman, the 25-year-old driver who is originally from Belleville, IL, the driver of the #2 Elite Chassis entry would become the first driver in DIRTcar Nationals history to win three championships in the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds. "Man, this is so awesome. To win a Big Gator is pretty special no matter how many times you do it. These are so hard to come by and to do this three years in a row says a lot about this car and this team. There's so many people that make this happen and I truly can't thank everyone enough." Through the week, Hoffman recorded three wins as well as two seconds and a third to win the DIRTcar Nationals title by 13 points (458-443) over Strickler.

NASCAR Xfinity Series star, Justin Allgaier and Zeke McKenzie brought the stellar 28-car field to Chief Starter, Dave Farney's green flag. It would be McKenzie shooting out to the early lead while Allgaier and the rest of the pack scrambled for position. McKenzie would extend his lead early in the event as Nick Hoffman, who started eighth, quickly worked his way into the top five by following fellow fourth row starter, Kyle Strickler, who started seventh. By Halfway, Strickler and Hoffman were second and third and slowly reeling in the race long leader, McKenzie.

On lap 16, Strickler was able to slip past McKenzie to take over the top spot as Hoffman also followed him through to grab second. The two drivers who both now call Mooresville, NC home, pulled away from the rest of the field and began slicing through lapped traffic while in the midst of their battle for the $5,000 payday. Strickler would lose Hoffman in traffic, but Hoffman was able to get through it to set up a late battle with Strickler. As the laps clicked off, both drivers got away from everyone, but it would be Strickler who would fight off a late charge from Hoffman to secure his second Gator of the week, his fourth career win at Volusia Speedway Park and first Big Gator trophy.

Hoffman settled for second but would officially clinch his third consecutive DIRTcar Nationals title. Will Krup rounded out the podium finishers in third. Two-time Gator winner this week, Tyler Nicely finished fourth as Allgaier completed the top five. Ryan Ayers scored his best finish of the week in sixth as Mark Whitener, two-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion, Matt Crafton, opening night winner, David Stremme and Jason Beaulieu rounded out the top-10.

The DIRTcar Late Models continue Late Model week on Tuesday, February 13th before the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series finish out the week over the last four nights from February 14-17th. The Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds take over for the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and begin their stretch of five nights of racing also on Tuesday, February 13th and will also close out the 47th Annual DIRTcar Nationals.

For more information about the 47th annual DIRTcar Nationals and to order tickets, please call: 1 (844) DIRT-TIX or log onto the DIRTcar Nationals website located at: dirtcarnationals.com.
