Super DIRTcar Series - Big Blocs

COMMUNIQUÉ OFFICIEL - RACEMANIA 12  - Big Blocs Super DIRTcar series 10 sept.
———————————— DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE —————————————————-
Autodrome Drummond - samedi 10 sept - RACEMANIA 12
Super DIRTcar Series - Big Blocs
__________________________________________________________________________

EN CAS DE PLUIE LE SAMEDI C'est remis au lendemain le
dimanche 11 sept. Ouverture des puits à midi,
réchauffements à partir de 3h30.

Samedi 10 septembre

Danny Benedict Logs his Career Best Sunset Speedway Late Model Finish

Danny Benedict Logs his Career Best Sunset Speedway Late Model Finish

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

At less than 20 years of age, Danny Benedict's resume already shows a wealth of racing experience. From his early days with the Kawartha Kart Club to a handful of seasons at the controls of a Mini Stock – where he earned the nickname 'The Showstopper', after winning the final feature events ever run at Kawartha Speedway and Mosport's Canadian Tire Motorsport Park oval – the youngster from Orono, Ontario is just a few weeks away from finishing his first season of competition in the NASCAR sanctioned Late Model division at Sunset Speedway.

A recent graduate of the Power Line Technician program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Benedict had been faced with the typical new car issues in his family-owned #54 machine. A solid work ethic and strong supporting cast kept the youngster plugging along and working toward the goal of running competitively against some of the sports most successful and experienced operations.

"It's been a tough season of learning about the new car, but our efforts have finally started to pay off," said the positive-thinking speedster. "The other drivers in the class and the friends we've made over the years have been a big help with set-up information and changes we can make to how the car's been performing."

During most events, the Late Model field at the venue that sits about an hour north of the GTA runs a pair of 35 lap main events. Saturday, September 3rd Danny Benedict kicked-off a new month of action with a 10 place finish after starting 17th in the opening round, but had some issues with the car's handling and performance. In the second tour, he started 3rd and led for nearly half the race distance before taking the checkered flag in 6th, for his best finish of the year.

"The year we ran Sunset with the Mini Stock helped us learn about the track, but now I think we're starting to get the hang of things with what to expect with the Late Model," admitted Benedict, who currently sits just outside the top 10 in series points. "We've been taking steps in the right direction and the team is really looking forward to finishing out our first season with the new ride."

Benedict Racing would like to thank 2016 sponsors Dan McHattie Racecars, Hoy's Garage, Kim Irwin of Irwin Tax & Accounting, Baudo Auto Service, B & W Enterprises, Mark Rainford Auto Centre and Mayhew Graphics for their support during the season. Team media and promotional services are provided by Clarke Motorsports Communications.

Orono, Ontario's Danny Benedict is looking forward to a strong finish to his first season of action in the Late Model division at Sunset Speedway.

New England 500 At Beech Ridge Up Next For PASS North Competitors

New England 500 At Beech Ridge Up Next For PASS North Competitors

-       For Immediate Release

NAPLES, ME (September 8) – Although the 43rd Annual HP Hood Oxford 250 has come and gone, that does not mean there is a lack of major events left on the calendar for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds.  The upcoming New England 500 on September 15-18 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME, will once again bring together some of the best drivers from the Northeast and Canada.  The big weekend of racing will feature four days of short track action, culminating with the Valenti Modified Series next Saturday and the Fall Foliage 200 for the ACT Late Models and Southern Maine Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 300 for the PASS North Super Late Models next Sunday afternoon.  The PASS Modifieds will race on both days.

With just a few events left in the race for the 2016 PASS North Super Late Model championship, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway could play a very interesting role in the title chase.  Center Conway, NH's DJ Shaw comes to Beech Ridge with a 72-point advantage over Johnny Clark.  Shaw was the winner at Beech Ridge in the spring, while Clark captured the checkered flag in last year's Southern Maine Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 300.  After nearly winning his third HP Hood Oxford 250 in the last four years, Morill, ME's, Travis Benjamin, returns to Beech Ridge looking to make up ground in the championship fight and seeking his second straight win at the 1/3 mile speedway.

But there are a couple of wildcards to watch in this weekend's race as well.  Mike Hopkins sits third in PASS North points and has shown speed throughout the 2016 season.  Veteran Mike Rowe has won in nearly every type of Late Model imaginable at Beech Ridge and captured the track championship just a few years ago.  And, Joey Doiron returns to Beech Ridge, where he raced locally during the summer, after breaking his ankle a few weeks ago and after capturing a big win in Canada last weekend.

Another strong field is expected next weekend for the first major event in New Engalnd to follow the success of the HP Hood Oxford 250 a couple of weeks ago.  All the action gets under way next Thursday and Friday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway with support division racing and rotating practice for all competing divisions.  On Saturday, September 17, rotating practice will begin at9:30 AM, with heat races beginning at 1 PM, followed by features for the Valenti Modified Series, PASS Modifieds, and Limiteds.  Then, on Sunday, September 18, gates open at 8 AM, with practice at 10 AM, and features at 1 PM for the PASS North Super Late Models, ACT Late Models, and PASS Modifieds.  The complete weekend schedule can be found at ProAllStarsSeries.com

Entry forms for upcoming PASS Super Late Model action at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, White Mountain Motorsports Park, and Hickory Motor Speedway can be found at ProAllStarsSeries.com.

The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America's premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as the legendary HP Hood Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway and PASS South's Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway.  For technical information concerning all PASS divisions please send questions topassracing@roadrunner.com.  For media or marketing questions, please contact Alan Dietz at 704-231-2039 oralandietzpass@live.com.  And, don't forget to "Like" the Pro All Stars Series on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @PASSSLM14 to keep up with breaking news as it happens.

Heritage Family Credit Union Members Admitted Free on Saturday at Vermont 200

Event kicks off season's biggest weekend of racing at Devil's Bowl Speedway

For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                                                                 DBS-090716-1

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil's Bowl Speedway will once again open its gates to welcome all Heritage Family Credit Union members on the afternoon of Saturday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m.  After the annual HFCU "Member Night" event was postponed last month by weather, officials agreed to reschedule the offer for the opening day of the "Vermont 200 Weekend" – the season's biggest stock car racing event at the Rutland County facility.

The Vermont 200 Weekend's Saturday Asphalt Track event includes a 50-lap feature race for the Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modified division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, which sets the stage for Sunday's championship finale.  Jason Durgan and Vince Quenneville Jr. are locked in a tie for the point lead entering the weekend in one of the most exciting title fights in Devil's Bowl Speedway's 50 seasons of racing.

Also on the Saturday program are qualifying heat races for the Sportsman Modifieds, the Rosen & Berger Auto Recyclers Renegades, and the Portland Glass Mini Stocks.  The annual 10-lap "Shootout" races for drivers who have yet to win a feature race in 2016 are also on the card for all four of the track's weekly asphalt divisions including the Central Vermont Motorcycles Late Models.  In addition, Sportsman Modified and Renegade drivers will turns the controls over to their teammates in the annual Mechanic Races, and the Mini Stocks will have a ladies-only "Powder Puff" race.

Sunday's jam-packed card has two full events – an afternoon event on the half-mile Asphalt Track at 1:00 p.m. to include a 100-lap Late Model race, the 50-lap "Leon Gonyo Memorial" Sportsman race, and more; and an evening event on the 3/10-mile Dirt Track at 6:30 p.m. to include the Interstate All Battery Center "Vince Quenneville Sr. Memorial" Sportsman race and a wild-and-crazy, multi-surface Enduro Series race.

The Saturday event is free to any Heritage Family Credit Union member in good standing who presents proof of valid membership at the ticket window on race day.  Acceptable items to obtain free entry include checkbooks, debit cards, or recent bank statements; only one person will be admitted per account.  Free HFCU member admission is not applicable toward the purchase of a two-day or "all events" ticket.

General admission for non-HFCU members is just $10.00 for adults and free for kids age 12 and under.  Special multi-event tickets are also available; the three-race "all event" package is just $30.00 for adults.  A full listing of ticket prices is available on the Devil's Bowl Speedway website at www.DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com.

Devil's Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, Vt., four miles north of Exit 2 off of U.S. Route 4 and just 20 minutes from Rutland, Vt.  For more information, visit www.DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com or call (802) 265-3112.  Devil's Bowl Speedway is on Facebook at facebook.com/DevilsBowlSpeedway and on Twitter and Instagram at @DevilsBowlSpeed; follow the action using the #DevilsBowl hashtag.

Devil's Bowl Speedway Posts Bonuses for Vermont 200 Weekend

Drivers from Airborne, Claremont, Thunder Road, Devil's Bowl Dirt eligible for extra cash

For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                                                                 DBS-090616-1

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil's Bowl Speedway has announced a series of bonus awards for its "Vermont 200 Weekend" asphalt and dirt stock car races on September 10-11.  On top of increased purses in all divisions, more than $3,000 in posted bonus money is up for grabs for drivers competing in four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions, including "invader" awards, heat race bonuses, and other prizes.

The awards are sponsored by Central Vermont Motorcycles of Rutland, Vt., Portland Glass of Rutland, Vt., Sugar & Spice Restaurant of Mendon, Vt., White's Heating of Northfield, Vt., Maplewood Ice of Whitehall, N.Y., and Northern Truck & Equipment of Fort Ann, N.Y.

More than 100 drivers from Airborne Park Speedway, Claremont Speedway, Thunder Road Speedbowl, and the Dirt Track at Devil's Bowl will be eligible for the "invader" bonuses.  Sunday's 100-lap Late Model race will award $250 to the highest finishing driver from the Top 20 in final championship points at Thunder Road.  The Sportsman Modified division will run twin 50-lap races – one on each day – with the top finisher from the current Top 12 at Airborne receiving an extra $100 in each race.

The Renegade division's 50-lap Sunday finale has $50 bonuses for the top drivers from the Top 15 in the Airborne Renegades, Claremont Limited Sportsmen, Devil's Bowl Dirt Renegades, and Thunder Road Tiger Sportsmen.  Sunday's 25-lap Mini Stock feature has $25 prizes for the top drivers from the Top 10 in the Airborne Mini-Modifieds, Claremont Wildcats, Devil's Bowl Dirt Mini Stocks, and Thunder Road Street Stocks.  Racers in pursuit of the "invader" bonuses in each division are encouraged to review the official 2016 Devil's Bowl Speedway rulebooks online at www.DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com prior to competing.

Devil's Bowl Speedway has also posted bonuses in the Sportsman Modifieds ($150), Renegades ($50), and Mini Stocks ($50) for the driver in each division who posts the best combined average finish in Sunday afternoon's Asphalt Track feature races and Sunday night's Dirt Track features at the "Vince Quenneville Sr. Memorial" event presented by Interstate All Battery Center.

Qualifying heats and the Saturday "Shootout" races for non-winners offer $100 to each Sportsman Modified and Late Model winner, and $50 to each Renegade and Mini Stock winner.  Sunday's Sportsman Modified finale – the inaugural "Leon Gonyo Memorial 50" – will pay tribute to the late driver's iconic car number 4 with the leader of the fourth lap collecting a bonus to be announced on race day.

Should the Late Model entry list reach 20 cars, the winner's purse will climb from $1,200 to $2,000, and the runner-up will see a bump from $700 to $1,000; all Late Model drivers will earn a minimum of $300 to take the green flag regardless of car count.

Devil's Bowl Speedway is offering single-event pricing and package deals for general admission tickets and pit passes at the Vermont 200 Weekend.  The full three-show package – which includes both Saturday and Sunday afternoons on the Asphalt Track and Sunday night's Dirt Track – is just $30 for adult general admission; for a full list of admission prices, visit www.DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com (or see chart below).

Parking and camping are free and open from Friday, September 9 at 12:00 noon until Monday, September 12 at 12:00 noon.  The annual bonfire and barbeque party will be held on Saturday night following the on-track action; admission for the party is $5 per person, or free with a pit pass or "all events" general admission ticket.
