Saison 2021 complète en série NASCAR Pinty’s

Douze (12) courses dont une première participation sur la terre battue du Ohsweken Speedway

 

DAYTONA BEACH (Floride) – Après les six courses du « Pinty's Fan Cave Challenge » tenues en 2020, la série NASCAR Pinty's revient à la normale pour 2021 en annonçant une saison de 12 courses qui se dérouleront sur huit circuits au Québec et en Ontario. À l'instar de 2017, un champion sera couronné après la dernière ronde prévue au Jukasa Motor Speedway le 25 septembre prochain. 

« Notre équipe a dû travailler d'arrache-pied pour créer un programme pour 2021 qui se veut novateur et complet afin de mettre en valeur les courses passionnantes auxquelles sont habitués les amateurs de la série Pinty's, » a déclaré Chad Seigler, vice-président NASCAR, responsable du développement international. « Notre objectif est de maximiser la sécurité des participants. Ainsi, au minimum pendant les premiers week-ends de la saison, chaque circuit accueillera seulement les équipes de la série NASCAR Pinty's.  À ce jour, nous ne savons pas quand les amateurs pourront assister aux courses en personne. Nous continuons à travailler avec les promoteurs et autorités concernées afin de permettre l'accès aux spectateurs aussitôt que possible. La santé et la sécurité des participants, officiels et supporteurs demeurent notre priorité. »

À noter :

  • L'Autodrome Ohsweken accueillera, pour la première fois de l'histoire de la série Pinty's, une course sur terre battue le mardi 17 août (inscrite au calendrier de 2020 puis annulée suite à la crise sanitaire).

 

  • Une tournée québécoise tenue à la fin du mois d'août comptera trois courses sur deux jours. Le Circuit ICAR accueillera sa première course le samedi 28 août (la série n'y est pas retournée depuis 2017). Les équipes se déplaceront ensuite vers l'Autodrome Chaudière le dimanche 29 août pour un programme double sur le tracé d'un quart de mille qui présente toujours des courses spectaculaires.

 

  • La série Pinty's offrira un second programme double au CTMP le dimanche 5 septembre lors de la visite annuelle de la série des camionnettes NASCAR Camping World.

 

  • Toutes les courses de la série Pinty's seront diffusées sur TSN et RDS. Les horaires de diffusion seront publiés ultérieurement.

NASCAR Pinty’s Series Returns with Full Schedule for 2021

12-race slate includes previously scheduled dirt debut at Ohsweken Speedway

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Following an abbreviated six-race season under the "Pinty's Fan Cave Challenge" banner the NASCAR Pinty's Series will run a full slate of events and once again crown a season-long champion in 2021. 

 

The return to a full schedule features 12 races at 8 tracks culminating with the championship race at Jukasa Motor Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 25. Jukasa has hosted the season finale every year since its return to the schedule in 2017.

 

"Our team has worked hard to put together a full schedule that will showcase the exciting, door-to-door racing Pinty's Series fans have come to expect," said Chad Seigler, NASCAR Vice President, International Business Development. "Out of an abundance of caution, we are focusing on stand-alone events, especially as we kick off the season. Though we are unsure of when we can welcome fans back to the race track, we will continue to work with local and provincial officials to put on as safe an event as possible. The health and safety of our competitors, officials and fans are our top priority."

 

Other highlights include:

 

  • The series' long-awaited debut on dirt. Ohsweken Speedway will host its first Pinty's Series race on Tuesday, Aug. 17 after being featured on the initial 2020 schedule.

 

  • A Quebec swing in late August featuring three races at two tracks in two days. Circuit ICAR will host its first series race since 2017 on Saturday, Aug. 28 followed by twin events at Autodrome Chaudière on Sunday, Aug. 29.

 

  • The Pinty's Series will again serve as the opening act for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) with two races on Sunday, Sept. 5.

 

All races will air on TSN and RDS. Start times and complete broadcast schedules will be released at a later date.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 26, 2021) – The NASCAR Foundation today announced two key additions to its Board of Directors, further strengthening the organization's leadership and strategic relationships within the racing industry. Veteran race car driver Hurley Haywood and Rev Racing Co-owner Dr. Jennifer Satterfield-Siegel accepted nominations to join the board led by Chairman Mike Helton.

 

"Being able to include the leadership of industry veterans such as Hurley Haywood and Dr. Jennifer Satterfield-Siegel to our Board of Directors is significant," stated Mike Helton, Chairman, The NASCAR Foundation. "We look forward to their support as we seek to expand the reach and relevance of The NASCAR Foundation across the U.S. while continuing to grow its impact for children."

 

Haywood, a legendary endurance racing driver, is widely known for winning the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA five times, the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times and 12 Hours of Sebring twice. He is credited with the 1988 Trans-Am title, two IMSA GT Championship titles and 23 wins, three Norelco Cup championships, a SuperCar title and seven IndyCar starts. Haywood built his career and made history behind the wheel of a #59 Brumos Porsche, racing for the Jacksonville, Florida-based team for over 40 years. Haywood served as Chief Driving Instructor for the Porsche Sports Driving School for many years and remains active in an honorary capacity for the school today. He also serves as an Ambassador for Porsche participating in many appearances and events worldwide.

"Becoming a part of The NASCAR Foundation has incredible meaning to me," stated Haywood. "While I may have spent my career in sports car racing, my love for all forms of motorsports is great and I consider the work of The NASCAR Foundation to be so important to children today."

 

Dr. Jennifer Satterfield-Siegel, a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and NASCAR fan, grew up and currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is a member of the Payton Manning Children's Hospital Craniofacial Team as well as treating patients in her private practice. She and her husband co-own Rev Racing, the exclusive manager of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity Program. She is a former recipient of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity Industry Ambassador Award. Her volunteer and business accomplishments have been recognized by the March of Dimes, Links Inc., the Indianapolis Business Journal, NAWBO, Jack and Jill of America, and the Coalition of Black Women, among others.

 

"I am a huge NASCAR fan and participate in the sport on many levels," stated Satterfield-Siegel. "Working with The NASCAR Foundation feels like a natural fit as I continue working to impact the lives of our nation's youth."

NASCAR, iRacing Announce Return of eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series

Building upon overwhelming success in 2020, star-studded virtual racing series featuring NASCAR Cup Series drivers will return to action in late March

 

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Jan. 26, 2021) – After a historic debut season that set the high watermark in viewership for televised esports programming, the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series is set to return in 2021.

NASCAR and iRacing jointly announced today that a new-look Pro Invitational will see NASCAR Cup Series stars compete virtually in a 10-race schedule that will complement NASCAR's real-life racing schedule, offering fans a new mid-week competition featuring NASCAR's top drivers. FOX Sports, which helped NASCAR and iRacing set viewership records with the inaugural Pro Invitational last season, will broadcast the first five races of the series live in primetime on FS1. NBC Sports will air the final five races of the series, with its schedule and details to be announced at a later date.

With the NASCAR Cup Series set to visit new tracks and new markets in 2021, this year's Pro Invitational will feature a mix of tracks designed primarily to preview the upcoming weekend's "real life" race – a feature that will be particularly beneficial in giving fans an idea of what to expect as the real-life drivers take on challenging new circuits throughout the season.

"The success of our eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series was underscored by an industry-wide effort to entertain fans during the early months of the global pandemic," said Tim Clark, NASCAR senior vice president and chief digital officer. "This year the Pro Invitational will return with a schedule of midweek races that will bridge the gap between our real-world races each weekend."

"After last year's Pro Invitational success, we're proud that our partners at NASCAR, FOX, and the race teams view the series as an integral part of their marketing and fan engagement strategies for 2021," said Steve Myers, iRacing executive producer. "It's even more fulfilling that the industry has rallied around our platform not only as the most authentic re-creation of the sport, but also a terrific tool to help grow NASCAR's audience and generate revenue to strengthen the entire ecosystem."

The first five mid-week events will air on FS1 on select Wednesday nights beginning March 24th, featuring an exciting mix of races that include Bristol Motor Speedway's new dirt configuration, fan-favorites such as Talladega Superspeedway and Darlington Raceway, and Austin, Texas' famed Circuit of the Americas' facility. NBC Sports will pick up the second half of the 10-race season once the network's broadcast window begins in June.

"FOX Sports embraced the eNASCAR iRacing Invitational Series in the spring as a way to keep race fans entertained, but we quickly realized it was a product and collaboration that we would continue to explore," said FOX Sports Executive Producer, EVP/Head of Operations and Production Brad Zager. THE BIG CATCH: Troutman Holds off Nicely to Win DIRTcar UMP Modified Winternationals Round 1 at East Bay

Nicely settles for runner-up, third-starting Lee suffers early misfortune

A first career DIRTcar UMP Modified Winternationals Feature win against some of the best talent in the state of Florida. Not bad for a 15-year-old kid from Pennsylvania.

That's exactly what Drake The Kid Troutman accomplished in Round 1 of East Bay Raceway Park's Winternationals Tuesday night, driving by UMP Modified veteran Tyler Nicely just after halfway to pick up the $1,000 victory and start his DIRTcar Florida Winternationals points chase off with a bang.

"It's really cool to win against this caliber of guys," Troutman said. "[My crew] did a great job tonight. Everything worked out perfect."

In all, Troutman, of Hyndman, PA, topped a 48-car field, complete with some of DIRTcar's most recognizable names in UMP Modified racing, including Nicely, Lucas Lee, Dave Hess Jr., Jeff Mathews and more. He grabbed his eighth-place grid spot by the horns and instantly dropped the hammer, advancing six positions in just seven laps to take second.

"I knew I had a really good racecar when I got up to fourth. I didn't think I had a winning racecar; I figured I'd be a second or third-place car," Troutman said.

Troutman then began his march to the front, chasing leader Nicely, who had passed six cars in the first two circuits to grab the early lead. A few early cautions restacked the field and cut into Nicely's chances to break away from the field, aiding in Troutman's run to the front. One of which bit the outside polesitter, Lucas Lee, who was hit with a flat tire on Lap 7, forcing him to the pits and the rear of the field for the restart. He was unable to make up the ground in the end, and finished 17th.

Once the field got back rolling, Troutman's car decided to come in. Nicely had opened up a small advantage over the field, but Troutman was reeling him in on the bottom. Nicely then tried the middle groove into Turn 1 on Lap 16 but Troutman was right there, and he took full advantage of the open door down low.

"I just got a little tight there towards the end and tried a new line going into [Turn] 1 and Drake got by me. He ran a pretty good race," Nicely said.

Now with the lead, Troutman turned up the juice and began to open up a gap of his own as he approached lapped traffic. He handled the first few small waves of it with no problem, but the laps were counting down and a thick pack of traffic was forming in front of him as he crossed the stripe to take the white flag.

Nicely, of Owensboro, KY, was digging hard behind Troutman and had managed to close the gap to within a single car length. Troutman decided to take it back to the high side for the final corners with slower cars in both high and low lanes, while Nicely threw it hard into Turn 3 for one final shot at the lead.

Troutman nearly made contact with the back of the slower cars in front of him coming out of Turn 4, but he was able to steer clear and hang on for the win.

"We hit lapped traffic there, where we were racing three and four-wide. Me and a lapped car about got together and Nicely pulled up alongside of us, but we had enough momentum off the top to hold on," Troutman said.

Nicely came up short with the last-lap slider in the waning seconds, but knew it wasn't worth causing major issues on night number one.

"I messed up going into 1 on the last lap and that killed my shot to get him in 3. I probably could have sent it in a little harder, but there's no reason to tear stuff up on night one," Nicely said.

Nicely's new Longhorn by Loenbro chassis hasn't often been beat since its debut in Florida last November, but he and the crew know the work they have to do before the big 75-lap, $5,000-to-win finale Saturday night.

"We probably could've been a little freer at the end of the race. We were good at the beginning, through the middle, just got a little tight at the end. Just couldn't steer into the corner like we needed to," Nicely said.

WHAT:           The NASCAR Foundation's Betty Jane France Memorial High Speed Hold 'Em Poker Tournament traditionally held in Daytona Beach prior to the DAYTONA 500 was instead hosted via a virtual partnership with World Poker Tour® on January 13.

 

Utilizing the World Poker Tour's online sweepstakes-based poker platform, ClubWPT™, the tournament allowed for two playing styles to happen simultaneously – Sit and Go tables and Multi-Tables. Participating NASCAR Cup Series drivers have a chance to earn funds for their charities with the first place finishing driver receiving a $25,000 donation, the second place finishing driver a $15,000 donation and the third place finishing driver a $10,000 donation.

 

The final table will be streamed on January 22 at 5:30 p.m. on NASCAR's YouTube channel with 2018 Women in Poker Hall of Fame Inductee Maria Ho and NASCAR on NBC analyst Rick Allen serving as hosts and commentators. The final table will feature six players including two NASCAR Cup Series drivers, one professional poker player, one celebrity and two participants from the multi-table and sit-and-go tournaments played on January 13.

Taking the first step, Trackhouse Racing makes its much-anticipated debut in the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro at the Daytona 500 on Feb. 14 with Daniel Suarez behind the wheel. The Monterrey, Mexico native notably stands out as "the only foreign-born national series champion in NASCAR history."

Perez has already asserted himself as an engine for evolution.  Not only will he serve as an active partner on the Trackhouse executive team, Perez serves as a brand and philanthropic ambassador.  Together, Marks and Perez will foster the launch of a racing-themed STEM curriculum within the SLAM! (Sports Leadership Arts and Management) inner-city charter schools -- which Pitbull helped establish seven years ago.
