PASS North 2010 gets the green Sunday at Speedway 95

Naples ME (4/12) The Pro All Stars Series will roll into Hermon Maine’s Speedway 95 this weekend for their 2010 lid-lifter and there’s bound to be plenty of surprises in store when all three PASS touring divisions take to the track on Sunday in their only 2010 appearance at Maine’s family fun track.

The super late models headline the show with 150 green flag laps and the tough old Speedway 95 oval always presents a challenge for the touring pros. Johnny Clark will be looking  to break the deadlock with Ben Rowe for PASS North  titles won and the Farmingdale speed merchant  has his championship team intact and ready for 2010. Clark is looking for three championships in a row and it’s hard to bet against his accomplishing the feat.

New lineups abound with Ben Rowe’s ride in the Scott Mulkern Racing 48 at the top of the list. Rowe has two 2010 southern starts under his belt and despite more than his share of bad luck the team has led races and shown promise. A return to home turf should be welcome for the four time PASS North champ.

Scott Chubbuck, Richie Dearborn, Cassius Clark and Kelly Moore are just a few of the drivers that could spoil the opening day party for Clark and Rowe.  PASS North rookie contender Joey Doiron will see how he measures up at the Odlin Road oval, as will Scott Alexander, Gary Bellefleur, Quebec’s Alexandre Gingras,  home town favorite Gary Smith, Chuck Colby, Donnie Whitten and  plenty more.

If the rumors are true Speedway 95 could see the strongest opening day field of PASS Mods ever. There’s several new combinations expected to make their Mod debut, including  veteran  Alan Wilson who’s sure to make a run at the 2010 title.

You never know who will make a run at the PASS Sportsman win. There’s so much talent in the division and they put on a show wherever they go. 2009 Champion Carey Martin, Mike Landry, Lyman and Dan McKeage, Duane Seekins, Shane Tatro, Billy Childs Jr., David Vaughn - they all have a shot at Speedway 95 victory lane.

Legends cars complete a four division card with plenty of green flag feature racing.

On Saturday April 17 all divisions will have a four hour practice. The pit gate opens at noon and each division will alternate on track  from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  Sunday April 18 is race day and practice gets underway at 11:00 AM.  Heat races will get the green at 1:30 PM.
