Daytona, FL – Airborne promoter Mike Perrotte was a guest speaker at the RPM National Promoters Workshop in Daytona Wednesday. He was introduced as the director of one of the East’s standout short-track success stories (Airborne Speedway) and asked to describe his successes, failures, and near-misses as a relatively new promoter.

Perrotte emphasized that while promoters need to be aware of the circumstances of their specific market, having capable and friendly staff, running the races quickly and having a clean facility, have been the most important factors in Airborne’s success.

“Our headline DIRTcar Modified division is growing despite the tough economy,” Perrotte said. “They deliver speed and excitement and have built on an open-wheel racing tradition in our region.”

“Treat people with respect,” Perrotte said. “Treat them the way you’d want to be treated yourself. That’s important to fans, racers, sponsors, everyone.”

Randy and Debbie Queensland, promoters of Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN, were named 2010 Promoters of the Year.
