WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

BRIAN HOAR, Driver of the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger, On competing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway during NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend: “It's one of the biggest races and the biggest track that we run,. I like racing there. I really like the track, and this race has quickly jumped up to Milk Bowl and Oxford 250 prestige in a lot of ways. It's a premium event on a really big stage. It's got a gigantic crowd – the biggest we race in front of by far. It's just a huge, huge event.

“Is it as big as the Milk Bowl? Not to Vermonters, not to Barre fans, but that's been around for 50 years now. That's the only thing this doesn't have is the history, but when this thing is 50 years old it will. We're running on the most premiere, nicest racing facility in all of northeastern North America, and that's pretty awesome.”

On why it's becoming increasingly difficult to win ACT races at New Hampshire: “New Hampshire's such a big track, when we first went there a lot of guys were intimidated by the speed and the size of the place. Not to mention, you've got to learn the tricks of the trade to get quicker at New Hampshire.

“No question, the whole field has gotten better. More cars are better prepared to race. It's also hard when you only go once a year. It's not about just turning fast laps, but racing there. With that experience, everyone's gotten better.”

On why New Hampshire is so important to him: “It's a great race track and there's a huge fan base there – like a big version of Thunder Road. It's all of us guys from all over New England and Canada that have fans here. So it's a really neat experience. It's such a cool deal that we can even come here with our short track cars and race on this big track.”
