SPEEDWAY 51 GEARING UP FOR SECOND HALF OF 2016

NEW DIVISION STARTING IN AUGUST

 

            With the Mid-Season Championships looming on the horizon this Saturday night, Speedway 51 is gearing up for a big second half of the season which will include the addition of a new division, the Northeast Cyclones, plus several other exciting, fan friendly events.

 

            This weekend's event, sponsored by Swallow & Sons Concrete will feature double points for all divisions, and with the point battles so tight, you can expect teams to be on the edge all night long. Speedway 51 management also added a Rat Rod, Hot Rod and Muscle Car show which will begin at 3pm. All divisions will be in action including the North Country Ford Late Models, the Sign Depot Tigers, Pepsi /Schweppes Street Stocks, the AB Excavating Daredevils and the White Mountain Community College Pure Stocks all racing for double points. Post time is 5:30pm.

 

            The new Northeast Cyclone division is the brainchild of racer, Jean Leblanc and Doug Shannon. This bone stock four cylinder, front wheel drive class, and four cylinder pickups will run three times this season beginning on August 13th and continuing on September 3, and September 17th.             Looking ahead, the NEMA Midgets (Northeastern Midget Association) rolls into town on Saturday, July 30th, as well as the NEAR vintage racers. The following week, August 6th, the North East Mini Stock Tour visits Speedway 51. On August 20th, The Northeast Street Stock Tour invades the high banks of Grovetona. The North East Mini Stock Tour makes their final appearance on September 10th, and the 2016 seasons championship titles will be decided on September 17th. The final Mud Run of the season will take place on September 18th. The curtain will fall on the season on October 8th with the running of the Fall Brawl. Go-Karting is alive and well at Speedway 51 with over thirty karts competing weekly. This program is excellent for both youngsters and adults, and finally Speedway 51 is proud to announce that they will be hosting the Great North Woods Vintage Snowmobile Series.             Speedway 51 offers the most competitive purses in the area, and is always looking forward to have new drivers to come and compete with some of the area's best drivers.
