MOODIE, SWITSER AND CALL STAY HOT

ANTHONY NOCELLA GRABS VMRS EVENT

A beautiful night greeted race teams and race fans alike this past Saturday at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group in Groveton, New Hampshire, and the racing was fast and furious all night long. Feature winners on the night included Brendan Moodie, Dean Switser Jr., Alexus Call and Anthony Nocella.

The bounty stakes were high in the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman and Brendan Moodie as a $750 payday was at stake to the driver that could win the feature other than Moodie himself. To make it more interesting, Moodie chose to start dead last in the 25 lap main event. He methodically raced his way through the field trying to chase down leader Derrick Calkins. With five laps remaining the caution flag waved for a minor spin. The duo lined up side by side for a five lap shootout. It was a no holds barred finish as the pair tangled in turn two with Mark Lanphear waiting in the wings. Somehow the pair regained control of their cars and raced side by side to the finish with Moodie edging out Calkins for the win, his 6th in a row. Mark Lanphear settled for third followed by Mike Giroux, and Floyd Bennett Jr. Calkins and Giroux carried heat race checkers.

Bunker Hodgdon won the first segment of the Caron's Fabrication Street Stock two segment event, but he just didn't have the muscle to work his way around Dean Switser Jr. and had to settle for second place overall as Switser edged Hodgdon in the final segment and won the tie breaker for his second straight feature win. Hodgdon raced home second ahead of Brett Rowell, Thomas Merchant and Kasey Beattie.

Alexus Call collected her third win of the season in the A.B. Excavating Daredevils as she raced home ahead of Hunter King, Parker Piper, Makita Giroux and Jesse Dunham. Makita Giroux won the qualifying racing.

Anthony Nocella held off Jeffrey Gallup, Sam Rameau, Rob Richardi Jr., and Mike Willis Jr. in the Valenti Modified Racing Series 100 lap main event. It was a wild finish as with five laps to go Michael Douglas Jr, and Nocella got together in turn two. They both hung on but tension was high as two more cautions waved leaving tempers flaring and some unhappy drivers at the end of the race. When it was over fans were on their feet cheering the drivers for their great efforts.
