Ontario Modifieds Racing Series Celebrates a Successful 2014 Season

Since its inception, the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, powered by Torque Builders Inc. has been represented by a simple mission statement. "Powering and preserving affordable open wheel modified racing for racers, by racers". That motto was brought to the forefront during the opening remarks at the annual awards banquet – Saturday, November 15th – at the Quality Hotel in Oshawa.

 

In his preliminary address, Rick Warnes – one the 3 OMRS founding members – paid tribute to the runners who participated during the 2014 campaign. Racing on a 'spec' series tire, most drivers were able to run the full schedule on a single set of tires, keeping their costs below $500 for the entire year. While next year's schedule – with events pencilled-in for Peterborough and Flamboro Speedways – has yet to be finalized, Warnes said he expects to see most of the drivers and teams who followed series in 2014 to return; along with some new faces to create a battle for the top rookie honours.

Kevin Harvick Wins 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship

Fourteen-Year Series Veteran Captures First Career Title

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2014) – In a storybook finish to conclude a revamped Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Kevin Harvick won the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday to claim his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

 

To win the title, Harvick needed to finish ahead of his fellow Championship 4 – and a win was the only way that would've happened. Ryan Newman finished second, Denny Hamlin finished seventh and Joey Logano ended the night in 16th.

 

After finishing a career-best third in the standings in three of the last four seasons, the 14-year series mainstay finally broke through for the premier series title in his first season with Stewart-Haas Racing.

 

A veteran of all three of NASCAR's national series, Harvick joins Bobby Labonte and Brad Keselowski as the third driver to win both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series crowns. Harvick, 38, is the 30th champion in the 66-year history of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

 

The No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John's Chevrolet driver showed off his speed throughout 2014, pacing the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in laps led and poles. Following a two-win regular season, Harvick entered the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup as its No. 6 seed. He adeptly navigated his way through the Chase's Challenger and Contender Rounds highlighted by his victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but would still be searching for a championship without his clutch performance in the Eliminator Round cutoff race at Phoenix International Raceway.

 

Entering the penultimate showdown at the one-mile tri-oval last among Chase qualifiers, Harvick needed a win at Phoenix to advance to the Championship 4. He responded to the pressure by leading 264-of-312 laps and beating four-time series champion Jeff Gordon on his way to Victory Lane. The Bakersfield, California, native carried his momentum to Homestead, becoming the first title-winner under NASCAR's new playoff format.

 

Harvick's championship is the second for Stewart-Haas Racing. The racing outfit jointly owned by three-time premier series champion Tony Stewart and Gene Haas won its first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title behind the driving efforts of Stewart in 2011. No. 4 team crew chief Rodney Childers, also in his first season with SHR, won his first series crown as well.

Ça bouge aussi en Mini Sportsman

 Sans aucun doute la Série Mini Sportsman aura fait parler d'elle au courant de la dernière saison. Les gens parlaient de la qualité esthétique des voitures, de la capacité impressionnante de nos jeunes pilotes à rouler en piste avec ces voitures somme toutes rapides et aussi de la belle complicité qui régnait entre les pilotes de la Série.

Tout pour attirer de nouveaux pilotes parmi nous! Et en effet, déjà quelques confirmations pour la prochaine saison. Laissez-moi vous présenter notre première recrue 2015!

Dany Lizotte, âgé de 13 ans fera ses débuts cette année à bord de la voiture #95; une voiture qu'il refait entièrement avec l'aide de son père. Un beau projet père-fils qui amène déjà Dany à entrevoir la saison avec beaucoup d'enthousiasme.

Le jeune Lizotte gravite dans le monde des courses depuis déjà quelques années; son père lui ayant transmis sa passion, nous avons pu voir la famille Lizotte à bord d'une voiture de la classe Sport Compact novice (anciennement Kamikaze) à l'Autodrome Chaudière lors de la saison 2014.

Dany précise que lorsqu'il a vu pour la première fois une Mini Sportsman, il savait qu'il voulait en conduire une! Il les a suivis à plusieurs reprises au courant de la saison et il a apprécié la qualité des pilotes et aussi l'esprit de camaraderie. Il a bien hâte de faire partie lui aussi de la « gang » de Mini.

Il se décrit comme une personne déterminée, énergique, enthousiasme et qui a un bon esprit d'équipe. La compétition ne me fait pas peur;  je n'ai pas peur de foncer, souligne Dany Lizotte.

Il entrevoit déjà avoir beaucoup de plaisir tant à travailler avec son père comme mécanicien qu'à rouler sur les pistes pour la prochaine saison.

Il  débutera la saison dans la classe développement afin d'apprivoiser les pistes et la voiture; qui sait ce que la saison lui réserve !

Pilote ambitieux et déterminé, Éric Bouchard fait son entrée en Sportsman Québec

Le programme de juillet dernier à l'Autodrome Saint-Félicien n'aura pas seulement conquis Yves Pelchat. En effet, pour la saison 2015, nous pourrons voir évoluer dans la Série Sportsman Québec un autre pilote de la région, soit Éric Bouchard.

Ce pilote du Lac St-Jean fera ses débuts en Sportsman Québec dans la voiture #93. Rappelons qu'Éric a fait l'acquisition plutôt cet automne de l'ancienne voiture #59 de Jason Morand, une conception Mac Rod Shop 2012.

Natif de Saint-Félicien Éric Bouchard a fait ces débuts en 2002 dans la classe Amateur ce qu'il poursuivra en 2003. Entre 2004 et 2006, il fait le saut dans la classe Pro Stock et sillonne les pistes de Saint-Félicien et Chicoutimi. Pendant ces années, il participera aussi à plusieurs courses de démolition, d'Enfer et  les Courses « d'aveugle ». Jamais trop de courses pour Éric Bouchard qui se passionne pour la conduite mais aussi pour la mécanique des voitures. Depuis 2012, il évolue dans la classe locale Sport Compact.

Quand on lui demande pourquoi avoir choisi la Série Sportsman Québec, Bouchard nous mentionne que le « frame » tubulaire ainsi que le fait que les voitures soient chaussées en pneus « slicks » ont pesé dans la balance pour faire son choix. La proximité des programmes par rapport aux autres Séries a aussi aidé à arrêter sa décision. Gageons que la compétition avec les pilotes de sa région n'est pas étrangère non plus !

Éric Bouchard compte sur l'appui de ces commanditaires pour lui permettre d'avoir une voiture compétitive et participer à la saison complète. Ambitieux, Éric vise le top 10 lors des programmes et aimerait bien gravir les marches d'au moins un podium lors de la saison.

Il tient à remercier le Centre du Sport Lac Saint-Jean ainsi que le garage Paul Dumas pour leur appui. D'autres commanditaires seront annoncés sur le site de la Série en début de saison.

        Waterbury, VT – Une nouvelle entente entre Pro All Star Series (PASS) et American Canadian Tour (ACT) apporte d'autres bonnes nouvelles pour les fans et les équipes de Late Model du Nord Est des États-Unis et du Québec. Deux nouveaux programmes doubles suivent l'annonce de celui qui fera l'ouverture de la saison de l'Oxford Plains Speedway le 18 avril 2015, avec pour la première fois de l'histoire un programme double PASS / ACT.

 

Le ACT International, qui a lieu à l'Airborne Park Speedway de Platsburgh, NY, le 18 et 19 juillet 2015, sera l'hôte des deux plus populaires série Touring du Québec et des USA. La formule présentée sera des courses de 200 tours autant pour PASS qu'ACT. Les qualifications seront faites le samedi et les finales auront lieu le dimanche.

 

Jamie Atkins, le propriétaire de l'Airborne Park Speedway a dit : ''Nous sommes vraiment enthousiastes de recevoir cet évènement. Les courses ACT sur notre piste sont parmi les plus compétitives du circuit ACT. Je suis certain que les pilotes de voitures PASS Super Late Model apprécieront tout autant leur expérience sur notre piste d'un demi mile. Cela sera certainement un weekend fantastique pour les équipes de courses en provenance de la Nouvelle Angleterre, de New York et certainement du Québec

 

Le dernier combiné ACT Late Models et PASS Super Late Models est prévu en septembre au populaire Autodrome Chaudière, situé à l'est de le ville de Québec, à Vallée-Jonction, au Québec. Ce rapide quart de mile a été l'hôte d'évènements ACT depuis son ouverture en 2006. Depuis les trois dernières années, les Super Late Models ont aussi fait partie de la programmation de la saison de course de Chaudière. 'C'est une excellente nouvelles pour les fans et les équipes de course québécoises. La participation de l'Autodrome Chaudière à ces combinés avec Oxford Plains et Airborne est spectaculaire ! Nous sommes très heureux de l'avoir dans la programmation de la Série ACT Québec pour 2015', de dire Sylvain Brouillette, le directeur d'ACT Québec.

 

L'American Canadian Tour a également annoncé qu'elle avait prévu un programme simple à l'Oxford Plains Speedway, dans le Maine, le 27 juin 2015. Toutes les cédules, (ACT US & Quebec et PASS North) seront complétées et publiées dans les prochaines semaines.

        Waterbury, VT – Another agreement between the Pro All Star Series (PASS) and the American Canadian Tour (ACT) adds more welcome news for Late Model race fans and teams in the Northeast. Two more 'doubleheader' type events will be held following the announcement a week ago that the Oxford Plains Speedway would open the 2015 season with the first-ever PASS/ACT combination event on Saturday April 18, 2015.

 

The ACT International held at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on July 18 and 19, 2015 will play host to the two most popular traveling series in the US and Quebec. The races will be comprised of two 200-lap features for both PASS and ACT teams. Qualifying will take place Saturday evening and feature races will be run on Sunday.

 

Jamie Atkins, owner of Airborne Park Speedway said, "We are very excited about hosting this event. The ACT races we have at Airborne are some of the most competitive on any track that ACT competes at. I am sure the PASS Super Late Model cars will enjoy their experience on our half mile just as much. This should be a great summer weekend of racing for teams from throughout New England, New York and certainly Quebec."

 

A final September combination event for the ACT Late Models and PASS Super Late Models has been set with the popular Autodrome Chaudiere, located east of Quebec City in Vallée Jonction, QC. The fast quarter mile has hosted ACT events from its opening in 2006, and over the past three years the Super Late Models have been part of the Chaudiere season of racing. "This is very good news for Quebec race fans and teams. Having this combination event at Chaudiere join both Oxford Plains and Airborne is spectacular! We are pleased to have this on the ACT Quebec schedule for 2015," said ACT Quebec Manager, Sylvain Brouillette.

 

In a related piece of news, the American Canadian Tour has also scheduled a stand-alone event for Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine. All schedules (ACT US & Quebec and PASS North) are expected to be completed and released within the next week or two.

PASS National Championship Contenders Ready To Race For Title At Southern National

CHARLOTTE, NC (November 11) – After a long season that has seen championship races contested in both the United States and Canada, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model National Championship will be decided on Saturday at Southern National Motorsports Park.  The 9th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown will determine the 2014 champion and the contenders could not have come from more varied backgrounds than points leader Ben Rowe and rookie upstart Tyler Dippel.

            Turner, Maine's Ben Rowe has grown to become a true short track legend over the last decade, winning more PASS Super Late Model races than any driver in history.  Not only has Rowe won 4 PASS North Super Late Model championships, but he also claimed the PASS South Super Late Model title in 2009.  And he is no stranger to success in the Mason Dixon Meltdown, as the only driver to win the race twice, taking the checkered flag in 2007 at Concord Speedway and again in 2009 at South Boston Speedway.  

            Despite his accolades, which also include 2 previous PASS National Championship title reigns in 2009 and 2011, Rowe has been impressed with his young counterpart.

            "You know I didn't know a lot about Tyler [Dippel] coming into this year, but he's really been impressive," said Rowe.  "The thing that surprised me the most was that he came to the tracks up North, tracks that he had never seen before, and not only held his own, but ran really well.  We'll definitely have our work cut out for us when we get down to Kenly this weekend."

            Despite being a teenager, Dippel has had quite extensive career, especially for a driver of his age.  Dippel cut his teeth racing powerful Dirt Modifieds, primarily in his home state of New York.  And the young driver has stayed busy in 2014, not only racing PASS Super Late Models on asphalt from South Carolina to Quebec, but continuing to race on dirt when his schedule has permitted.  Dippel recently opened eyes competing in his Modified at the Dirt Track At Charlotte during the World Finals.  But, now the focus returns to PASS for Dippel and trying to win a National Championship at Southern National.

            "Basically, it's just four points, so whoever finishes in front of the other driver is going to win the championship," says Dippel, who has finished strong in his PASS National outings this year, including a sixth place effort in his first try at the Oxford 250 .  "Our experience at Southern National hopefully will work out for us.  It's been an amazing year and I'm really happy at how our first year on asphalt has gone and to have a shot at the championship is really cool."

            Unlike the previous two PASS South events at Southern National Motorsports Park this year, the Meltdown will have an added element of strategy.  At 200 green flag laps, the Meltdown will be 50 laps longer than the earlier races held at Southern National.  Teams will be allowed to change two tires at lap 125, setting up a 75 lap dash for cash and the championship.

            "You're definitely gonna have to save a little more and have something left for the end," said Dippel.  "But, being able to get two tires, I think you will see some guys be able to push it and race hard the final 75 laps.  We might have to race a little differently though with the championship on the line."

While Rowe and Dippel battle for the PASS National Championship, Tyler Church, Cole Timm, and Jared Irvan will be competingfor the PASS South Super Late Model title.  In addition to Rowe, fellow New Englanders Joey Doiron, Derek Ramstrom, Steve Legendre, and Wayne Helliwell, Jr. and Quebec's Eric St. Gelais will be making the trip to Southern National.  Christopher Bell is hoping to continue his streak of finishing no worse than second in the last two events and will be joined by Kyle Busch Motorsports teammate Karl Weber.   Tate Fogleman, Trevor Noles, Brandon Setzer, Tanner Rumburg, Jody Measamer, and Lucas Jones will each be seeking their first career PASS South wins.   

Action at Southern National Motorsports Park for the 9th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown kicks off practice for all divisions on Friday, November 14 from 1 – 4:20 PM.  On Saturday, November 15, practice will start at 10 AM, with qualifying at 1:15 PM, and racing slated to start at 3 PM.  The PASS South Super Late Models will race for 200 laps, along with main events for the PASS Pro Late Models, Pee Dee/Coastal Supertrucks, and USAC Eastern Midgets.

        Waterbury, VT –Thunder Road International Speedbowl officials announced that the Pro All Star Series (PASS), based in Naples, Maine, will make their first ever appearance at Thunder Road in Barre, VT during the 53rdMekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 24, 2015. 

 

The Super Late Models of PASS will join Thunder Road's ACT Late Models in the Memorial Day twin bill. The PASS Super Late Models will race 150 laps, and the Thunder Road Late Models will race for the Mekkelsen Memorial Day Classic 100 honors.

 

"This is exciting news for our Thunder Road fans. Having the return to Thunder Road's high banks with Mike and Ben Rowe, joined by Cassius and Johnny Clark, DJ Shaw, and Glen Luce should be a lot of fun to watch. There is also a possibility to see ACT Champions like Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Brian Hoar, and Wayne Helliwell, Jr. bringing their PASS cars to Thunder Road for this event," said Thunder Road promoter Tom Curley. 

 

Thunder Road has run the Memorial Day Classic event with just about every kind of stock car available. From the early days of the flathead coupes and high horsepower modifieds, to the Flying Tigers in the 1960's, then the NASCAR-type Late Models of the 70's, and into the 80's with ACT Pro Stocks, variety has dictated Thunder Road's Memorial Day Classics. Since 1996, the ACT Late Models have carried on the Thunder Road tradition of opening the summer season with the Memorial Day Classic 100. The twin bill featuring the PASS Super Late Models in a 150-lap event is sure to add another dimension to the race program in 2015.

 

"I know there is going to be a lot of support and excitement for this show at Thunder Road from both our fans and competitors," said President of PASS, Tom Mayberry. "I know that numerous times over the past 10 years I have had racers and fans ask me what the chances were that we could race at Thunder Road. It should be a great show, and we are all looking forward to our first time at the tough ¼ mile high banks."

 

The American Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Star Series (PASS) are working together to bring both traveling groups to new events during the 2015 race season. An earlier announcement that the first-ever combination event between the two premiere touring series in the Northeast, PASS and ACT, would take place as the opening event of the Oxford Plains Speedway season in Oxford, Maine on Saturday, April 18, 2015. That announcement alone has created a positive outlook for the coming race season. The addition of a second event with PASS at Thunder Road in Barre, VT should add to the anticipation and excitement for the 2015 race season in the region.

Le #67 Dominic Jacques, vise un premier Championnat Sportsman en 2015


On peut dire que Dominic Jacques aura fait parler de lui depuis son arrivée dans la Série Sportsman Québec en 2013. Battant lors de sa première épreuve le record pour une recrue en finale avec sa 3e position, il terminera sa première saison avec le titre de Recrue de l'Année. 

En 2014, c'est un pilote plus confiant, déterminé mais toujours aussi respectueux que nous avons pu voir en piste. Réalisant 2 records de pistes soit lors du GP3R et sur la piste de l'Autodrome Saint-Félicien, sa fiche pour la saison 2014 est tout aussi relevée! C'est pas moins de 6 top 5 en 10 courses qu'il obtient dont 2 victoires. Il a été récompensé lors du Banquet de fin de saison obtenant le prix du Challenge Jass Racing ainsi que M. Qualification SAAS Race Wear en plus d'être en nomination pour le prix le plus prestigieux soit Ambassadeur Best Buy. 

Lorsqu'on lui demande quel est SON moment 2014, il va s'en dire que son week-end au GP3R avec sa victoire qui lui a valu le volant Nascar est dur à battre ! Mais il avoue avoir vécu un beau moment lors de sa victoire à Vallée-Jonction le 12 juillet 2014. Partant en 2e position en finale, le #67 Dominic Jacques de Vallée-Jonction a connu une journée parfaite! Réalisant d'excellents temps en pratique, victorieux en séance de qualification, il avait mené la finale du début à la fin. Filant à toute allure sur la piste, paraissant parfois même intouchable, il était alors allé chercher sa 2e victoire consécutive. 

Qu'est-ce qui fait le succès de Dominic Jacques ? C'est sans aucun doute un jeune pilote très talentueux. En piste, il est patient mais prend sa place, sait imposer son rythme et nous a offert de belles performances. J'oserais ajouter qu'il a su s'entourer d'une équipe qui fait la différence ; là où le plaisir rime avec le travail et des équipiers avec qui  la complicité transparaît. 

Que peut-on souhaiter à Dominic Jacques pour 2015 ? Il va mettre tout en œuvre pour que la saison soit représentative des accomplissements de 2014. Il ne se cache pas pour dire qu'il aimerait bien revivre son expérience Nascar qui lui a donné la chance de conduire une voiture encore plus performante.

Super Late Model Racing's Best Prepare For Mason Dixon Meltdown At Southern National

CHARLOTTE, NC (November 7) – As has been customary for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division, the season will once again conclude with the running of the 9th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown on Saturday, November 15 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC.  Some of the best short trackers from Canada to Florida are busily preparing their machines for what will be, for many of them, the final race of a long campaign.  One driver looking to cap off a pretty stellar 2014 season is Worcester, Massachusetts's native Derek Ramstrom.  During the late summer and early fall, Ramstrom went to victory lane in two of New England's most prestigious events, the PASS 300 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and the World Series of Stock Car Racing at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut.  Following a successful 5thplace outing with the Petit Motorsports team last weekend at Caraway Speedway's North-South Shootout, Ramstrom is encouraged to return to his family owned team for another outing at Southern National.

            "I love running the tracks down South," said Ramstrom.  "There a lot different from the tracks in the Northeast.  They've got more banking, they're a lot faster.  I definitely love to come down here."

            It would seem that the bigger events on the short track calendar have played in Ramstrom's favor in recent years.  This year's Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Raceway Park is expected to have one of the biggest car counts of the season and to attract some of North America's best racers.  And, at 200 green flag laps and with the option to change two tires at lap 125, Ramstrom is hoping his past experiences in big events will play out with a win in the Meltdown.

            "We usually run strong at Southern National," said Ramstrom.  "The last couple of years we've had some motor problems down there.  As long as the car runs good, I think we will definitely have a top five finish."

            In 2013, Ramstrom led laps and battled much of the race with eventual winner Tyler Church, before motor problems eventually sidelined him with less than 40 laps to go.  That performance has him excited to see what he and the Ramstrom's Service Center team can do when they return to Southern National next weekend.

            "You've just got to be consistent and try to stay in the top 10 in a long race like that," says Ramstrom.  "Hopefully we can make the right adjustments when we pit, work together as a team, and hopefully be there at the end."

While Ramstrom seeks a season ending win to cap off 2014, several drivers will be competing for championships.  Veteran Ben Rowe and rookie Tyler Dippel will be racing for the PASS National Chaampionship, while Tyler Church, Cole Timm, and Jared Irvan compete for the PASS South Super Late Model title.  In addition to Ramstrom and Rowe, fellow New Englanders Joey Doiron, Steve Legendre, and Wayne Helliwell, Jr. and Quebec's Eric St. Gelais will be making the trip to Southern National. Christopher Bell is hoping to continue his streak of finishing no worse than second in the last two events and will be joined by Kyle Busch Motorsports teammate Karl Weber.   Tate Fogleman, Trevor Noles, Brandon Setzer, Tanner Rumburg, Jody Measamer, and Lucas Jones will each be seeking their first career PASS South wins.   

Action at Southern National Motorsports Park for the 9th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown kicks off practice for all divisions on Friday, November 14 from 1 – 4:20 PM.  On Saturday, November 15, practice will start at 10 AM, with qualifying at 1:15 PM, and racing slated to start at 3 PM.  The PASS South Super Late Models will race for 200 laps, along with main events for the PASS Pro Late Models, Pee Dee/Coastal Supertrucks, and USAC Eastern Midgets.

KURT BUSCH UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Dover P.D. Official Statement

"The Dover Police Department can confirm that an investigation is being conducted based on an allegation of domestic assault that is alleged to have occurred in the City of Dover involving Mr. Busch. These allegations were brought to the Dover Police Department on Wednesday, November 5th at 2:00PM. At this time, the department is still investigating the victim's claims and will not have any further comment on this matter in order to preserve the integrity of the case. The Dover Police Department will release further information as it becomes available.

La vente de l'Autodrome Chaudière annulée; André Poulin devient le seul promoteur


Suite à une rencontre qui a eu lieu ce mercredi, 05 novembre 2014  entre le groupe André Poulin/Marco Savoie et Dany Lagacé/Kevin Roberge, la vente de l'Autodrome Chaudière qui avait été annoncée lors du Banquet de fin saison a été annulée étant donné la maladie qui afflige l'un des 2 associés,  Marco Savoie.  


M. Poulin et M. Savoie tiennent à remercier sincèrement Dany Lagacé et Kevin Roberge pour leur compréhension dans cette situation. Il va s'en dire que M. Savoie ainsi que sa famille peuvent compter sur tout notre soutient dans cet épreuve. « Je tiens personnellement à souhaiter un prompt rétablissement à Marco » dit André Poulin.


Suite à cette rencontre, M. André Poulin a fait la location de l'Autodrome Chaudière pour la saison 2015 avec option d'achat. Il devient par le fait même le seul promoteur.


M. Poulin a toujours l'intention de maintenir les déclarations faites en ce qui concerne la programmation relevée qui sera offerte pour la prochaine saison. Aussi, il tient à réitérer son engagement d'améliorer les classes locales et d'assurer la venue des Série Québécoises et Américaines.

Une réunion aura lieu le samedi 29 novembre prochain pour les classes locales et les détails vous seront communiqués dans les prochains jours.


M. André Poulin remercie Dany Lagacé et Kevin Roberge pour la confiance qu'il lui porte et mettra tout en œuvre afin de conserver le haut standard de qualité offert à l'Autodrome Chaudière dans les dernières années.


À compter de ce jour, l'autodrome portera le nom de l'Autodrome Chaudière 2014 inc.


Dans la prochaine année, M. Poulin regardera la possibilité d'accueillir de nouveaux investisseurs.

Waterbury, VT –Two of the leading short track sanctioning bodies in the United States and Canada, the American Canadian Tour (ACT) located in Waterbury, VT and the Pro All Star Series (PASS) from Naples, Maine have reached an agreement entering the 2015 season.

 

The first ever "double-header" event to be held between the two groups will take place at the opening event for the 2015 PASS season at the Oxford Plains Speedway(OPS), Oxford, ME on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Both the ACT Late Models and the PASS Super Late Models will compete in 150-lap feature events to open the race season at the historic Oxford Plains Speedway. ACT has a traditional opening day event at the Lee USA Speedway with the annual New Hampshire Governor's Cup race on Sunday, April 12, 2015. 

 

"This agreement between PASS and ACT is going to be very good for the New England and Canadian race fans, and certainly for full fender race teams. ACT Late Model teams spent many years racing at Oxford, and they always put on some terrific shows. This will also allow a number of the ACT teams, who also have PASS Super Late Models, to compete with the stars of PASS. We see this as a win-win for teams and fans," said Tom Mayberry, President of PASS and owner of the Oxford Plains Speedway.

The agreement between the two groups will also include a clearing of the ACT schedule on the weekend of the historic Oxford 250 to be held on August 29-30, 2015. There will be no ACT race or rain date scheduled on the date of the 2015 Oxford 250. 

 

Tom Curley, President of ACT said, "I see this project between ACT and PASS as a work in progress. We expect that other possibilities can result from this initial negotiation, and we are excited about working with Tom (Mayberry) going forward. It certainly should provide for an exciting new era of racing in our region for both the fans and race teams."

Waterbury, VT – In a joint announcement between Robert Hart, owner and promoter of the New Smyrna Speedway (NSS) and Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour (ACT), the popular ACT Late Models from throughout New England, New York, and Quebec will return to the annual World Series of Asphalt Racing in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on February 16-17, 2015. The teams of ACT will compete in the American Racer Cup, a two feature event, over two nights of racing.

 

"We are very happy to welcome the ACT teams back this February to our World Series of Asphalt Racing at New Smyrna Speedway. The teams that were here several years ago put on some of the best racing we have seen in a long while. We had many fans ask us to try and bring them back to New Smyrna. We are very pleased that they will return to New Smyrna Speedway in 2015," said Hart.

 

The 2014 ACT Champion, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. (Pole), Hudson, NH bested the field of twenty eight (28) teams to win the overall two days of racing in 2011. Pole also won the opening 100-lap feature, and Brian Hoar, Williston, VT won the 100-lap feature on the following night.

 

An excited Pole said, "This is just great news. That was a lot of fun racing in the middle of the winter and it gives us something to look forward to for the next few months. I really loved the track and it would be a great way to start the season by defending the Cup in February."

 

Sunday, February 15, 2015 will feature the NASCAR K&N Series opening event of the year to be held at the New Smyrna Speedway. ACT will run 100-lap features on consecutive nights beginning Monday, February 16, 2015 and Tuesday, February 17, 2015. The American Racer Cup will go to the best finisher combining points from both events. Total posted awards will be over $35,000.00.

 

"We appreciate the invitation for our ACT teams to once again compete at New Smyrna Speedway. It is a first class facility and our cars adapted well to the design and speed of the fast half-mile race track. I know the teams that were there in 2011 had a great time, and I would expect that this February will be the same. We have had great response from teams and we all are looking forward to the trip," said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour.
