Company Ready to Sponsor Two Races This Summer

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) - Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America and Herr Foods, Inc. announced today that the Pennsylvania-based snack food producer has significantly increased its marketing presence for the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season.

Herr's has agreed to become the Official Snack Food of ARCA, and will sponsor the "Herr's Live Life with Flavor 200" at Madison International Speedway in Wisconsin for a second consecutive year. The race is scheduled for Sunday, August 26.

An all-Friday event last season, this summer's Madison race will take place over two days, with practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell on Saturday, August 25, and the race on Sunday afternoon.

Herr's will also sponsor ARCA's visit to Winchester Speedway in Indiana on Sunday, June 24.

The "Herr Foods Chase the Taste 200" will highlight an all-ARCA weekend at Winchester. ARCA Racing Series practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will take place on Saturday, June 23, along with racing by the ARCA Truck Series and ARCA CRA Super Series late models. The race is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

Herr Foods was founded in 1946 in Lancaster, Pa. Today, Herr Foods is a leader in the snack food industry. While continually introducing the innovative products and packaging needed to satisfy ever-changing appetites and tastes, Herr's full line of quality snacks now consists of more than 340 items, including potato chips, pretzels, tortilla chips, cheese curls, popcorn, crackers, nuts, pork rinds, onion rings, and meat sticks. All are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and flavors.

"We at Herr's couldn't be happier about the way this partnership has worked out," said Hansley Thomas, community marketing specialist for Herr Foods, Inc. "Working with Menards and ARCA to bring two additional races to the series and become the Official Snack Food is something that I think all three parties can gladly hang their hat on. The partnership is great and the racing is great! We're certainly excited to be a part of it."

Race fans will have the opportunity to "Save Big Money" on tickets to both Herr's-sponsored events, as Menards stores will sell advance tickets for each at substantial discounts.

"Herr's and Menards have become very important strategic marketing partners, not only for Madison International Speedway and Winchester Speedway, but for the entire ARCA Racing Series," said Mark Gundrum, vice president of business development and corporate partnerships for ARCA.

"Herr Foods' involvement with the tour and our series presenting sponsor positions them as a very important marketing partner for ARCA. Their growing business-to-business relationship with Menards results in increased product sales and added exposure in our race markets throughout the country."

2012 will be the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards' 60th Anniversary Season, featuring 20 races at 18 tracks. The season begins with today's Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona International Speedway, which will air live on SPEED at 4:30 p.m.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards has crowned an ARCA national champion each year since its inaugural season in 1953, and has toured over 200 race tracks in 28 states since its inception. The series has tested the abilities of drivers and race teams over the most diverse schedule of stock car racing events in the world, visiting tracks ranging from 0.4 mile to 2.66 miles in length, on both paved and dirt surfaces as well as a left- and right-turn road course in its most recent season. This year, the series will visit Alabama's Mobile International Speedway and Minnesota's Elko Speedway for the first time; ARCA's first visit to Minnesota will give ARCA a race in a 29th state.

Founded by John and Mildred Marcum in 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is recognized among the leading sanctioning bodies in the country. Closing in on completing its sixth decade after hundreds of thousands of miles of racing, ARCA administers over 100 race events each season in three professional touring series and local weekly events.
