FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Delaware, Ont. - The racing season is underway at Delaware Speedway and this season’s APC Summer Showdown event featuring Nascar Superstars Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, and Travis Pastrana will help make a difference to health care patients and their families in Southwestern Ontario.

Delaware Speedway will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each ticket to the APC Summer Showdown to be held on July 18 at 8 pm as well as the proceeds from the track’s 50/50 draw for the day to London Health Sciences Foundation.

NASCAR Superstars Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, and Travis Pastrana are racing in the APC Summer Showdown and are donating any prize money they earn during the event. The #22 FT Garage Late Model team with driver Jamie Cox of Dorchester, sponsored by Total Lubricants, Stubbs Communications, London City Chrysler, CANUSA Automotive Warehousing, and APC, will also be contributing their winnings from the day to the foundation.  Two other drivers, Matt Pritiko (#21) of London sponsored by Burwell Auto Body and Jonathan Urlin (#4) of London sponsored by Budget Rent a Car also plan to donate their winnings from the event to the cause.

“The APC Summer Showdown is the biggest event of the summer at the speedway,” explains track announcer John Houghton. “Working with our partners at Auto Parts Centres, this is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community.”
