Plenty of contenders for 2012 Championship

Naples ME – The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models make their final trip over the mountains to North Woodstock New Hampshire's White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday and the season long points battle couldn't be a whole lot tighter.

Just ten points separate the top three as the 2012 season begins to wind down. Cassius Clark leads DJ Shaw by nine markers, and Travis Benjamin is just one back from Shaw in third.

It's hard to say who carries the most momentum to the high banked quarter mile. Both Clark and Shaw have a White Mountain win this season. Shaw has two wins and a second place run to his credit over the past three races, but Clark is coming off a win in Maritime Canada's biggest super late model race of the year.

Benjamin has been the picture of consistency. He's got a win to his credit and his eight top five finishes have kept him at or near the top of the standings all season long. He's won at White Mountainbefore and there's no doubt he can do it again.

Then there's the Pro All Stars Series six time Champion, Johnny Clark. True, he's 45 points back in fourth but it's hard to count him out. This team has come back before, and the right combination of circumstances could easily draw the Hallowell short track star back into the battle.

With White Mountain, The PASS 400 Weekend at Beech Ridge and Championship Day at Oxford Plains Speedway still to go the title fight won't end this weekend, but this battle will play a major role in the championship chase.

White Mountain is round three of the PASS National Championship chase and Cassius Clark is on top of those standings by four over Jay Fogleman. Clark has a National title under his belt and Fogleman wants one.The North Carolina short track master will be in the field Saturday night. Ben Rowe owns a PASS National title too, and he's nipping at the top two's heels. An up front run at his self proclaimed favorite speedway would put Rowe in the thick of the National points race.

White Mountain's weekly racing divisions complete the nights racing card. The first green flag will wave at 6:00 PM.
