Theriault To Tackle PASS At Autodrome Chaudiere In The No. 18

FALMOUTH, Maine – Brad Keselowski Racing development driver Austin Theriault will drive for Mulkern Racing in the PASS North Series event at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec, this Tuesday, August 6.

Theriault, a Fort Kent, Maine, native, will drive the Mulkern Racing No. 18 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dodge in the Budweiser 150. It will mark Theriault's second career appearance in the No. 18 and his first Super Late Model start at Autodrome Chaudiere.

"I'm excited to have this opportunity," said Theriault, who has two PASS South Series victories in 2013. "Scott and Vickie Mulkern have been very good friends to our family, and they've been a big part of helping me get to where I am today. I'm looking forward to racing the No. 18 this week and trying to get them a win."

Theriault will be part of a two-car effort for Mulkern Racing at Chaudiere. Tony Ricci of Westbrook, Maine, is slated to drive the No. 84 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep/Community Pharmacies Dodge.

"It will be fun having Austin race for us," said Mulkern Racing co-owner Vickie Mulkern. "He's obviously very talented, and we think the world of both him and his family."

In 2012, Theriault made one start for Mulkern Racing, finishing sixth in the PASS 150 at Seekonk Speedway. He had been running inside the Top-3 of that event at the 100-lap mark before losing power steering on the tight, bumpy bullring.

Theriault's only previous experience at Autodrome Chaudiere is in an ACT Late Model Tour ride. He has a best career finish of fifth at the banked quarter-mile.

After running at Chaudiere this week, Theriault will return to Brad Keselowski Racing for the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga., on Saturday, August 10. The race was originally scheduled for July 4, but it was rained out.

Theriault has PASS South victories at both Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, S.C., and Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C., this season.
