Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Returns for Seventh Consecutive Year

Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Champion from Big-Block Modifieds, 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Modified and Pro Stocks will be crowned

For the seventh consecutive season, one driver from each of the Big-Block Modified, 358 Modified, Sportsman Modified and Pro Stock divisions will walk away as Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Champion in 2017.

In 1976 the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship program was born. The Super DIRTcar Series program was used as a qualifier series for Super DIRT Week at Syracuse. In 1989, the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship program made a shift, adding a fall series to hometrack bonus points to determine the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack title. From 2000 through 2010, the champion from the Super DIRTcar Series was also named Mr. DIRTcar.

At the start of the 2011 season the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship was separated from Super DIRTcar Series points standings in order to recognize a separate champion. Rather than being tied directly to a touring series, the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship allowed DIRTcar Racing drivers who competed at DIRTcar-sanctioned tracks to earn points towards the Mr. DIRTcar title, rewarding the champion of each of the four divisions.

Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship now recognizes local heroes who run at weekly DIRTcar-sanctioned track in the Northeast. The champion in each of the four divisions takes home between $1,000 to $6,000, depending on that division.

How It Works
A driver's best 16 finishes are recorded throughout the season, from January 1 through Labor Day Monday (September 4 this year). Drivers receive 60 points for a win, 56 points for second, and so on decreasing by two points through the field. Once a driver reaches 16 races, his worst finishes are thrown out, leaving only the best results to count towards the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship title.

Since the Big-Block Modified division of the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Championship was separated from Super DIRTcar Series points standings, there have been two winners – Brett Hearn and Matt Sheppard. Since 2011, only one time has the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack Champion been different from the Super DIRTcar Series champion. That came in 2014 when Billy Decker took home the Super DIRTcar Series Championship while Sheppard earned the Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack title.

In 2016, Sheppard scored a perfect score in the Big-Block Modified division, tallying 16 wins. In the 358 Modified division, David Hebert narrowly edged out Erick Rudolph by two points to take home the 2016 358 Modified Mr. DIRTcar Hometrack title. Brad Rouse clipped Martin Pelletier by four points in the Sportsman Modified division, while Stephane Lemire topped Jocelyn Roy in DIRTcar Pro Stock action.

DIRTcar Racing is excited to announce the second annual OneDirt World Short Track Championship will return to The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 26-28, 2017. The mega-event will once again give the best weekly racers from eight different divisions across the United States and Canada the chance to shine at one of the country's premier dirt racing facilities.

The OneDirt World Short Track Championship once again runs one week before the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on November 2-4 to kick off two incredible weeks of racing.

"The OneDirt World Short Track Championship truly put the grassroots guys on the big stage," said OneDirt.com editor Ben Shelton. "These drivers are the backbone of our sport, and it's awesome for them to have a showcase event at such an amazing venue."

The 2017 edition of the OneDirt World Short Track Championship will feature the following divisions:

• DIRTcar Pro Late Models/SECA Late Models – A full-bodied late model with a Chevrolet Performance 604 engine
• DIRTcar UMP Modified – Open-wheeled Modifieds raced across North America
• DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modifieds – Center-steer Northeast open-wheel Modified body style with Chevrolet Performance 602 engine
• DIRTcar Pro Modified/SECA Crate Modifieds – Open wheel Modifieds with a Chevrolet Performance 602 engine.

The inaugural OneDirt World Short Track Championship attracted over 300 racers across nine divisions during three nights of thrilling dirt track racing. The second edition of the popular event will once again give grassroots racers a rare chance to battle at Charlotte's impressive dirt track.

"It gives a lot of grassroots racers an opportunity to come here and run at Charlotte," said Donald Bradsher, who competed in the DIRTcar Pro Late Model division at the inaugural event. "Most guys never get to come here. They just dream about it."

The 2017 OneDirt World Short Track Championship will once again be broadcast on DIRTVision with live streaming pay-per-view, increasing the exposure for some of dirt track racing's most exciting divisions.

"A lot of local guys who don't have a boatload of money come down here to gain some exposure, and to have it on DIRTVision is awesome," said DIRTcar Pro Sprints driver Scott Hall. "I just think it's a really positive deal for the sport."

Each division will have the chance to test their cars during open hot lap sessions on Thursday, October 26.The program on Friday, October 27 will feature qualifying heats for all eight divisions. Three 20-lap All-Star Invitational Features for the DIRTcar/SECA Pro Late Models, UMP Modifieds and DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modifieds, plus a FWD/Hornets Feature will also make-up Friday's program.

Saturday, October 28, the final night of competition, will begin with Last Chance Showdown races for four divisions and end with Championship Features for all eight divisions. Sunday, October 29 will be used as a rain date, if necessary.

Drivers are highly encouraged to submit their entry forms by October 10. The Entry Form is included in the 2017 OneDirt World Short Track Championship Competitor Guide at dirtcar.com/worldshorttrack. Three-day event pit passes are $75 for series members and $90 for non-members. Single-day pit passes will also be available.

Two-day general grandstand admission (Friday and Saturday) will be $55 for adults. Children 13 and under get in free. Single-day general admission will also be available. Tickets will be sold at the track only, during the days of the event. Camping at the Charlotte Motor Speedway campground can be reserved in advance by contacting the Speedway's camping office at 1-800-455-FANS.

Burton, Bowling & Sellers Headline Return To Virginia Track

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — After several years away, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East returns to South Boston Speedway Saturday for the WhosYourDriver.org Twin 100s. And race fans will have several familiar names and faces competing at the Virginia short track.

Most notably, NASCAR Next driver Harrison Burton is coming off his first career series win. The 16-year-old from Huntersville, North Carolina, won the rain-shortened race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and assumed the series points lead.

While it will be the youngster's first series race at the historic venue, his family has plenty of laps around the .400-mile oval.

Jeff Burton and his brother, Ward, raced in the track's Late Model Stock Car division en route to careers in NASCAR's premier Cup series. Jeff Burton made his second career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at South Boston in 1988 and finished 17th. He made eight starts there under the old Busch Series banner, with a win in 1991. Two sections of the front stretch grandstands bear the name of Jeff and Ward, and Jeff, a current analyst as NBCSN, will be the grand marshal Saturday.

Saturday night's field will include a pair of drivers innately familiar with the oval: Matt Bowling and Peyton Sellers. Both used title runs in the track's Late Model division to power them to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national championships.

Sellers accomplished the feat in 2005, and won another track title in 2014. Bowling won his first track title in 2012, and won back-to-back titles in 2015 and '16.

Sellers, who has two K&N Pro Series wins in 44 prior starts, will be in the No. 18 Danville Toyota Toyota fielded by Hunt-Sellers Racing. In two career K&N Pro Series East starts at South Boston, Sellers — who finished third in the final 2007 series standings — has never finished worse than third at his home track, where he also won the pole for the inaugural race in 2007.

Bowling, the 2016 national champion, will be making his series debut in Ted Marsh's No. 31 Whelen Engineering Chevrolet. He scored one of the biggest wins of his career at South Boston, when he held off a stacked field that included Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin among others to win the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown in 2014.

FAST FACTS:
The Race: The WhosYourDriver.org Twin 100s will be the fourth and fifth of 14 races on the 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East schedule.

The Procedure: The maximum starting field is 30 cars, including provisionals. The first 26 cars will qualify through the group qualifying process while the remaining four spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The races will be 100 laps, spanning 40 miles. The second 100 will start approximately 90 minutes after the completion of the first 100. The starting lineup for the second race will be set by the fastest laps for respective drivers in the first race.

The Track: Celebrating its 60th anniversary this season, South Boston Speedway opened in 1957 as a dirt track and joined the NASCAR family two years later. In 1962, the track was paved, and it has played host to nearly 50 NASCAR national series events, including 33 NASCAR XFINITY Series races over the years. Richard Petty, Junior Johnson, Benny Parsons and Larry Pearson all have put their cars in Victory Lane over the years at the facility.

Race Winners: There have been five different winners in the five previous K&N Pro Series East races at South Boston, with no repeat winners.

Pole Winners: In the five previous events, there have been five different pole winners.

New Winner: There have only been five previous NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races at South Boston, producing five different winners in five consecutive years dating from 2007-2011 on the .400-mile track. But that history won't matter this weekend when, for the first time, South Boston hosts Twin 100s at the facility. Teams and drivers have not one, but two chances in the same night to get a handle on an unfamiliar race track and gain valuable championship points.

Qualifying pressure: In the five previous K&N Pro Series East events at South Boston, no race winner started outside the top four en route to Victory Lane.

Matt Kobyluck won the inaugural event in 2007 from the fourth starting spot, worst among any driver to win at the track. Brian Ickler (2008) and Brett Moffitt (2009) each started from the outside of the front row, while Max Gresham won from the pole in 2010.

Despite the advantage of starting up front, South Boston has not been a track where passing is particularly difficult. Each of the first two series visits produced 12 lead changes, and through five events, there have been an average of nearly seven lead changes per race.

Bristol bounce-back?: Ronnie Bassett Jr. headed to Bristol with the K&N Pro Series East point lead, but the driver finished 22nd there following a crash on lap 61. He dropped from first to fourth in the standings, 18 points behind Burton.

After finishing in the top five in each of the first two races of the season, the Winston-Salem, North Carolina, driver will be looking to return to form at South Boston.

Hometown flavor: Travis Miller of Chesapeake, Virginia, will join Harrison Burton and Vinnie Miller as a teammate for his season debut in the K&N Pro Series for Ranier Racing with MDM Motorsports. The 29-year old driver has competed in a number of pavement-based series over the last few years.

Miller has made nine career starts in the series, and none since 2015, when he competed in nine races with a best finish of 14th, which he did at both Bristol and Dover that season.

He joins Matt Bowling and Peyton Sellers as the local Virginia drivers competing in the twin features.

NASCAR Home Tracks: South Boston Speedway

South Boston has been home to NASCAR racing since 1960, and boasts the Late Model Stock division that has produced NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national championship drivers in Philip Morris, Sellers, Lee Pulliam and Bowling. In addition to the Late Models, the track also holds weekly racing events in the Limited Sportsman, Pure Stock and Hornet divisions.

Raphaël Lessard signe une 13^e place lors de sa première course en ARCA!

SALEM, Indiana, le 30 avril 2017 – Raphaël Lessard, un pilote du Programme de développement Toyota (TRD), termine dans le Top 15 lors du Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200, pour ce qui était sa première épreuve dans la série ARCA. La course de 200 tours prenait lieu ce dimanche 30 avril sur l'oval du Salem Speedway, en Indiana.

Raphaël, au volant de sa voiture #25 Musselman's BIG CUP Apple Sauce-Toyota-Camry de l'équipe de course Venturini Motorsports, a inscrit le 8^e meilleur temps lors des essais libres de samedi, ce qui devait devenir sa position sur la grille de départ. En effet, l'organisation de la série a pris la décision de compter le meilleur temps en essai comme temps qualificatif pour tous les pilotes puisque la séance de qualification a été annulée en raison de la pluie.

C'est donc avec une séance en piste en moins que Raphaël a pris le départ de la 7^e place finalement, puisqu'un compétiteur en avant de lui a été pénalisé et a dû se mettre en fond de grille pour le départ. Tout allait bien pour le jeune pilote alors qu'il a même accédé au Top 5 lors des premiers tours, par contre, une pièce de sa suspension, un « packer », s'est délogé après 20 tours. À partir de ce moment-là, la voiture ne répondait plus aux commandes.

Raphaël s'est donc mis à perdre des places, et le manque de drapeau jaune ne l'aidait pas du tout. Finalement, c'est sur un drapeau vert, vers le 93^e tour, après avoir perdu 3 tours, que l'équipe a pris la décision de faire entrer aux puits Raphaël pour un changement de deux pneus du côté droit. Ces derniers étaient rendus à la corde. Ayant perdu 4 tours additionnels lors de son arrêt, Raphaël est revenu en piste plus fort avec de nouveaux pneumatiques alors que les autres pilotes commençaient à user les leurs.

Au 132^e tour, un drapeau jaune causé par un léger accrochage entre Raphaël et un compétiteur a permis à Raphaël et au peloton de rentrer aux puits pour mettre des pneus neufs. Repartant sur 4 nouveaux pneus, mais avec une voiture désalignée à cause de l'incident, et son problème de suspension, Lessard s'est permis un dernier combat pour terminer en 13^e position.

« Je me suis amusé en piste, et j'ai beaucoup appris aujourd'hui. Somme toute, je suis content de mon expérience même si j'aurais aimé terminer dans le Top 10. Par contre, j'ai beaucoup appris sur les arrêts aux puits en ARCA, ainsi que sur le déroulement des courses et l'usure des pneus. C'est dommage d'avoir perdu une pièce si tôt dans l'épreuve. Je me suis battu contre mon auto toute la course, c'est comme s'il y avait un parachute qui la retenait, elle ne voulait pas tourner. Mais on va revenir plus fort c'est certain! J'en profite pour remercier mon chef mécano Dave Leiner et son équipe à Venturini Motorsports, de même que tout le monde chez Toyota-TRD pour leur soutien inconditionnel.»

Par ailleurs, tout au long de la course, les commentateurs ont affirmé que Raphaël avait tout un courage d'effectuer sa première course en ARCA sur le circuit de Salem. Plusieurs s'entendent pour dire que si un pilote réussit à Salem, il peut réussir partout. D'ailleurs, il y a de nombreuses années, les pilotes voulant participer au Indy 500 devaient d'abord s'essayer sur le Salem Speedway, la réussite ou l'échec sur ce tracé, avec des courbes ayant une inclinaison de 33 degrés, était à ce moment un gage du talent du pilote.

La prochaine course de Raphaël sera le 6 mai prochain alors qu'il se déplacera au Hickory Motor Speedway, en Caroline du Nord, pour une autre course de la série CARS.

Airborne Park Speedway Update

PLATTSBURGH – It's been a long and aggravating process trying to beat Mother Nature for our initial track preparation. Progress is being made but it is a bit slower than anticipated.

The issue lies beneath the upper clay surface. The bottom bed of the clay on the race track needed to be thoroughly dried and with the number of rainy days in the last few weeks, it has been difficult to allow that to happen.

We needed to open the track up and turn over the clay to help allow it to dry. Just this past weekend we were able to take steps towards finalizing this process and begin to pack it into place. Bruce Richards spent Thursday through Sunday completing these tasks. Without following this process, we would be running into issues with the clay peeling, moving and shifting underneath. In total, the track has had over 210 man hours and over $1,000 in fuel for this initial setup process this weekend alone.

With rain today and rain expected tomorrow, it is not looking good for a practice Wednesday night, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.

We ask that you please be patient with the process and be assured that we are headed in the right direction. We must ensure that we have a safe race track first and foremost. I am not one that cancels things early, but it's part of the business, sometimes you have to take the hits.

Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group is anxiously awaiting their season opener on Saturday, May 6^th. The exciting day will feature their Annual Car Show that will be held on the track from 10am until 1pm. All divisions are welcome including the North Country Ford Late Models, the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman, the Caron Auto Repair and Welding Street Stocks, the AB Excavating Daredevils, White Mountains Community College Cyclones, the Twisted Tea Pure Stocks and the Moms Angels.

Following the car show practice will be held for all divisions as they will alternate throughout the afternoon. The car show and the grandstands will offer free admission and at 4pm the grandstands will be emptied and the front gates will be opened up to purchase race day tickets.

The Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman will headline the opening night card as they will keep fans on the edge of their seats. The exciting news for the Tiger Sportsman is that they once again will be able to have free racing tires, and are looking at a huge point fund for the 2017 season. Joining them will be the Caron Auto Repair and Welding Street Stocks. These mighty four cylinder racers will be out in force looking towards having the chance to unseat 2016 champion, Bunker Hodgdon. We welcome Chris Caron and his business as a new sponsor of the division. The always exciting AB Excavating Daredevil Youth Racers will see action and several new faces will be entering the class as several racers from last year have moved up the ladder this season. The card will also feature a couple new divisions including the White Mountains Community College Cyclones, and the MOMS, Motorcycles of Lancaster Lady Angels, (formerly FB Spaulding). The North Country Ford Late Models have the night off, but will highlight the card on Saturday, May13th at the NAPA Spectacular.

There will be lots of excitement and fun throughout the night, and the season as one of the Tracks all time favorite announcers, Dick Therrien will return to the microphone at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group. His high energy will entertain the youngsters, teens, middle age fans and seniors alike.

Adam Turner Tackles the New Season with a Fresh Attitude and a Heavy Right Foot

Its been said there is only one chance to make a first impression. During the kick-off event for the 50^th Anniversary Season – Saturday, April 29^th at Brighton Speedway – Picton, Ontario's Adam Turner impressed a capacity crowd with his performance in the track's Pro Late Model division. Less than a couple of weeks after a live television appearance to promote his racing program, the 34 year-old, second-generation speedster scored a qualifying heat win and the main event checkered flag to open the 2017 schedule.

"Every driver hopes for a strong start to the year and I'm thrilled we were able to have such a solid effort to get things rolling," said the likeable father of 3. "Our group put in some long hours during the off-season to get the car ready and getting to victory lane this early is the result of a total team effort. The hard work and late nights paid-off. There's a very competitive field out there, but I hope we can keep-up the same momentum throughout the entire schedule."

With experience in a variety of different racing divisions, including Street Stock, as well as DIRTcar Sportsman-Modified and 358 Mods, Turner is looking to improve on the performance that saw him finish 7^th in track points during the 2014 and 2015 seasons and 4^th in 2016. The happy-go-lucky racer has also been a fixture on the Go Nuclear Late Model travelling series since 2013.

"This isn't Daytona or Indy," Adam Turner said, with his patented chuckle. "I work just as hard to get to the winner's circle as anyone else, but I wouldn't keep coming back every week if I wasn't having fun. I've met some great people over the years and made a lot of friends. I like to travel, but racing about a half an hour from my front door has its advantages. For the most part, we all get along and help each other in the pits. But when the green flag waves, its every man for himself."

Two of the Most Challenging Schedules in the Motorsports Industry

Concord, NC—April 27, 2017— The DIRTcar Summer Nationals and the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals 2017 schedule promises a summer of hot action on the track. The tours' schedules mirror each other for all but one race during their 32 consecutive days on the road. The two touring Series embark on one of the most gruesome schedules in the motorsports industry as they will travel across eight-states-including Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan, and Ohio— in four-and-a-half weeks with back-to-back racing nearly every night. The Late Model Series will take a break from racing only three times in 32 days, and the Modifieds will take four.

Every year the Series' swing through June and July proves to be mentally and physically trying on drivers and their teams, preserving through their passion and dedication to the sport. The 2017 DIRTcar Summer Nationals and the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals will kick off at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IL on June 14.

The 2017 DIRTcar Summer Nationals season marks a major milestone for the tour as it hits its 30th consecutive year in the running. The best Late Model drivers in the country have graced the Summer Nationals stage over the past three decades including six-time Summer Nationals Champion Billy Moyer, four-time Champion Shannon Babb, three-time Champion Dennis Erb Jr., and two-time champions and father-son duo Bob and Bobby Pierce.

The 2017 schedule boasts 29 races and is broken down into four weeks: Tri State Week, Independence Week, Midwest Week and Champions Week. Each week a new champion will be named based on a weekly points system. At the conclusion of the tour, one overall Summer Nationals Champion will be crowned based on the overall points accumulated. The Summer Nationals Championship will take place at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, OH on July 14-15.

Additionally, the DIRTcar Summer Nationals will cross paths with The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series in the 2017 season. The Series' collide at Terre Haute Action Track on June 30 and at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on July 1.

Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals

The Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals will have 28 races in 32 consecutive days before having two weeks to prepare for the championship, which will take place at Fairbury American Legion Speedway with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on July 28-29.

The Modified Nationals Champion is calculated by the top eight finishes for each driver. The driver who finishes the highest within those eight races gets crowned Champion and well-deserved bragging rights. Last year young-gun Nick Hoffman overtook the title from four-time Modified Nationals Champion Mike Harrison, as well as 353 other drivers who entered the tour for at least one race. Harrison remains the only driver in Modified Nationals history that has gathered eight wins equaling a perfect score in the championship points standings.

Honk Kong, 24 avril 2017 -L'équipe Craft-Bamboo Racing est fière d'annoncer que le Canadien Alex Tagliani et l'Australien Greg Taylor feront équipe lors de la saison inaugurale de la série FRD LMP3 qui débutera en Chine au mois de mai. Tagliani et Taylor, qui formeront l'un des duos les plus expérimentés du peloton, auront la tâche de mener la Ligier JS P3 numéro 20 à la victoire. Tagliani compte plus de 200 courses professionnelles nord-américaines à son actif dont la majorité en série monoplace CART/Champ Car et Indy Car. Son coéquipier Taylor est un champion de série GT qui a connu ses plus grands succès dans le championnat GT d'Australie. Avec son nouveau coéquipier, il vise maintenant le titre de la série asiatique FRD LMP3.

Tagliani course professionnellement depuis plus de deux décennies dans des séries prestigieuses très compétitives en Amérique du Nord. Il a participé à huit épreuves du Indy 500, décrochant la position de tête en 2011 : un des faits saillants de sa carrière. En plus de disputer le championnat LMP3 asiatique, le pilote originaire de Lachenaie au Québec prendra également part à l'intégralité des courses de la série NASCAR Pinty's en 2017. L'an dernier, il a connu sa meilleure saison dans cette série en terminant au troisième rang. Tagliani a également participé au cours des dernières saisons à d'autres épreuves NASCAR dans la série de camionnettes et en série Xfinity pour l'équipe Penske où il a récolté la position de tête l'an dernier à Road America. Pilote polyvalent, Tagliani ne s'est pas contenté de courir en monoplace et en stock-car. Il a également fait ses premiers pas en prototype en 2014 dans le championnat IMSA United Sport Car dans la catégorie Le Mans Challenge Prototype dans une voiture similaire à la Ligier qu'il pilotera en FRD LMP3. Comme pilote, Tagliani est le type qui s'adapte à tous les volants. Son expérience de course, que ce soit en monoplace, GT, stock-car, prototype et courses d'endurance, fait de lui l'un des pilotes de pointe du peloton et l'un des plus expérimentés au niveau technique.

Greg Taylor est un pilote performant qui a laissé sa marque en Australie dans la catégorie GT, et plus récemment en Asie dans la Coupe de Chine sur une Audi R8 LMS. Après avoir fait ses classes durant plusieurs saisons dans le championnat néo-zélandais Porsche Bridgestone, Taylor a poursuivi sa carrière en Australie en 2014 en Coupe Porsche Carrera. L'année suivante, il a remporté le titre des pilotes dans le championnat GT d'Australie. En 2016, Taylor a impressionné à ses débuts en prototype, menant sa Ligier JS P3 à la victoire en catégorie LMP3 lors des 12 Heures Gulf d'Abou Dhabi. Au cours de la même saison, il a impressionné en remportant la catégorie AM lors des 12 Heures de Bathurst (Australie), terminant sixième au classement général au volant d'une Audi R8 LMS GT3. Taylor a poursuivi sur sa lancée en terminant deuxième au championnat GT d'Australie. Pour 2017, il se joint à l'équipe Craft-Bamboo Racing pour la saison inaugurale de la série FRD LMP3 avec son coéquipier Alex Tagliani avec un but très précis. Avec son expérience au volant d'une Ligier, le champion GT sera en mesure d'être rapidement compétitif afin de permettre à la Ligier JS P3 Craft-Bamboo no 20 d'accéder à la plus haute marche du podium.

Le titre de champion 2017 en série FRD LMP3 ouvrira à Craft-Bamboo Racing le chemin à une participation future aux 24 Heures du Mans et l'unique but de l'équipe est de remporter ce championnat des pilotes LMP3 afin d'accéder sans frais d'abord à la série Asian Le Mans dans la catégorie prototype LMP2. Après avoir remporté le titre LMP2 Asie, l'équipe se verrait attribuer un laissez-passer pour participer à la plus grande épreuve d'endurance automobile de la planète, les 24 Heures du Mans. Craft-Bamboo Racing vise un premier retour au circuit de la Sarthe depuis leur dernière participation au Championnat du monde d'endurance FIA en 2014. L'équipe diffusera les détails sur les pilotes vedettes de la seconde LMP3 dans les prochaines semaines.

Je suis marié à une Australienne et mon nouveau coéquipier (Greg Taylor) est Australien. Je n'aurai donc aucun problème à le comprendre. Ça va être un plaisir de partager la Ligier LMP3 avec lui. Tout le monde sait que je n'ai que de bonnes choses à dire sur la Ligier. Piloter un tel prototype sur des circuits qui s'annoncent très intéressants avec une l'équipe Craft-Bamboo Racing qui ne vise que la victoire est tout à fait tripant. J'ai hâte au début de la saison.

« En plus de découvrir l'Asie, j'aurai la chance de piloter pour une équipe professionnelle qui va nous fournir une voiture et du matériel de première classe, ce qui n'est pas toujours évident en course automobile. Ce sont aussi les pistes et le type de voitures qui ont attiré mon attention lorsque nous avons établi les premiers contacts. Les dates proposées au calendrier ont aussi été très importantes pour moi. Tout cela réuni, je n'ai pas hésité longtemps avant de m'embarquer. L'autre chose en série voitures sport est son coéquipier et le choix de Greg(Taylor) par l'équipe a pesé lourdement dans la balance. »

New Date, Added Excitement For PASS Beech Ridge 300 This Weekend

NAPLES, ME (April 27) – Moving from the Fall to its new date now in April, one of New England's biggest race weekends is in store for competitors and race fans alike. The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds head to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME, once again this Saturday afternoon to bring together some of the best drivers from the Northeast and Canada. Adding to the importance of this big day of racing, the Beech Ridge 300 will be the fifth race of the PASS National Championship season and the final chance to accrue important points prior to the next national event, the 44^th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in August.

For Jay, ME's, Dave Farrington, Jr., Beech Ridge Motor Speedway holds a special place in his heart. The Kulwicki Driver Development Program graduate captured the track championship at Beech Ridge in 2014. Now, sitting fifth in the PASS National Championship race, Farrington believes he has his best chance yet to capture his first PASS win and make up ground in the title chase.

"I love the track there, we've always had a good car at Beech Ridge, from 2013 up through last year," says Farrington. "Obviously, we were the 2014 champion without winning a race and that means something for us, we won two races there last year and probably should have won the PASS 300 a couple of years ago. We definitely feel every time we go there that we've got a chance to win."

This year is set to be the busiest yet in Farrington's young career. In addition to racing in PASS North for his family-owned team, Farrington has joined with the Woodman Racing team to also compete for the PASS National Championship and PASS South title. While busy, Farrington is having fun competing against the best in Super Late Model racing.

"It's a wonderful opportunity and I can't thank Dicky and Becky [Woodman] for their help," says Farrington. "It feels good to be in April and have raced as many times as we have. I love the sport of racing and would do it every weekend if I could. Being from Maine it's a little tough, but having this opportunity has given us the chance to add another 10-12 races down south."

With just two events completed in the 2017 PASS North Super Late Model schedule, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway could play a very interesting role in the title chase. Former Oxford 250 winners, Glen Luce and Ben Rowe, lead the standings, with just 31 points separating the top 8 drivers. Defending PASS North champion, DJ Shaw was the winner at Beech Ridge last spring, while six-time champion Johnny Clark captured the checkered flag in the 2015 Beech Ridge 300. After nearly winning his third Oxford 250 last August, Morill, ME's, Travis Benjamin, returns to Beech Ridge looking to make up ground in the championship fight and seeking another win at the 1/3 mile speedway.

A strong field is expected this Saturday afternoon for the first major Super Late Model event of the season in New Engalnd. In addition to the strong contenders listed above, they will be joined by the last two Beech Ridge track champions, Curtis Gerry and Reid Lanpher, the winner last weekend at Oxford, plus Derek Griffith, Mike Hopkins, Travis Stearns, Mike Rowe, Derek Ramstrom, Nick Sweet, Tracy Gordon, Joey Doiron, Garrett Hall, and Joey Polewarcyzk. Lonnie Sommerville makes his return to PASS racing, along with fellow Canadian and PASS National Championship contender, Sarah Cornett-Ching.

All the action gets under way on Friday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway with rotating practice for all competing divisions from 2-6 PM. On Saturday, rotating practice will begin at 11 AM, with heat races beginning at 3 PM, followed by features for the PASS Modifieds, Street Stocks and PASS Super Late Models.
