NAPLES ME (6/27) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models are back in the USA this Saturday June 30, kicking off the fourth of July week with Canaan (NH) Fair Speedways' annual holiday spectacular.

Canaan's a track that Ben Rowe has dominated in recent years and the only man to own PASS North, PASS South and PASS National Championships will be looking to get his 2012 campaign back on track this weekend.

Rowe's results to date have been less than spectacular, leaving him ninth in the PASS North standings after five events. He's been fast but a host of mechanical gremlins and handling issues have combined to keep the Turner Maine short track star out of the top three, his best result a fifth place run at Star Speedway.

Rowe and his race team will head to Canaan with a winning attitude, a fast race car, and a driver that is hungry to carry the checkers at the end of the day.

Despite his past Canaan Fair successes, Rowe will have his hands full with an all star field of the northeast's fastest, all looking to carry the checkers themselves. Travis Benjamin is hot, scoring the win at L'Autodrome Chaudiere and padding his point lead to 12 over Johnny Clark. Joey Doiron rebounded from a rough outing in New Brunswick to earn a podium finish at Chaudiere, and Derek Ramstrom came all the way back to second in Quebec after an early race flat tire. All of these men have to be considered Canaan Fair favorites, and there's plenty of others on the early entry list that can get the job done. Lonnie Sommerville, Matt Matheson and Matt Harris will represent New Brunswick; John Donahue and Scott Dragon lead the Green Mountain State contingent and Kyle DeSouza makes the trip from Rhode Island. Past Canaan Fair winner Cassius Clark, DJ Shaw, Alexander Gingras, Donnie Whitten, JT Thurlow, Matt Frahm and a host of others will be there to take up the challenge

The PASS Mods get back on track at Canaan Fair for their third 40 lap shootout of the season. The open wheelers have staged two ultra competitive events to date with Andy Shaw and Rusty Bryant making victory lane appearances. Shaw tops the standings by a single point over Dana Reed.

Monster trucks, fireworks, and a heaping helping of short track racing make Canaan Fair Speedway's awesome asphalt the place to be on Saturday June 30. The first green waves at 4:30 PM.
