The closest Delaware Speedway has ever gotten to handing out free food to the whole grandstand was a couple seasons ago when a racer stole a microphone from one of the track announcers and proudly proclaimed "FREE HOTDOGS FOR ALL".  That trick did not work at the time but this Friday fans will finally have their chance at the legendary free hot dog deal.

If 2,000 spectators show up on Friday night to "Pack the Track" Fan Appreciation Delaware Speedway will be giving every spectator with an admission ticket a free hotdog.

"The moment there are 2,000 spectators in the venue we will sound the horn," explained track PR director John Houghton.  "The horn will let the whole grandstand know that free hotdog time has come".

Fans have good reason to show up and support their home track on Friday.  In addition to the possibility of free hotdogs, fan appreciation night will also feature cheap admission ($10 taxes included) as well as a driver meet and greet session for fans to meet the drivers and get an up close look at their cars.

The evening is also Del-Ko-Brydge community appreciation night.  Residents of the track's neighbouring communities of Delaware, Komoka, & Mt. Brydges will enter completely free of charge with photo ID indicating they are from one of the surrounding towns.

In addition to the solid racing line up of Super Stocks and Trucks the night will also showcase King of the Hill Spectators Racing: a chance for spectators to enter their street-legal street-driver car in a one-on-one-fun drag race around the historic half-mile in support of Jesse's Journey.

So for anyone who has been putting off a trip to Delaware Speedway for "next week" or "later this summer", this Friday is the night to make the move.  As at every event in 2015: kids age 12 and under enter free of charge.
