History says that you get only one chance to make a first impression. If that's the case, the first impression Peterborough Speedway fans have of Sean Kennedy is that he'll be a future track champion at Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval.

After sharing a ride in 2014 and finishing 5th in the final point standings, the 20 year old from Courtice, Ontario put together a program of his own for his first full season of competition in the track's Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun division. Quickly earning a reputation for being a driver who is patiently aggressive, Kennedy found his way to Dart Heating & Air Conditioning Victory Lane on 3 different occasions – July 11th, August 8th and September 5th– along with a number of qualifying heat race wins during the 2015 campaign and earned the runner-up spot in the year-end point chase.

"We had some great runs and a lot of fun throughout the year," admitted Kennedy, whose car carries the #9 as a tribute to his favourite driver, 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion, Chase Elliott. "I love everything and anything to do with racing. Stock cars, go karts and even Play Station. Being able to start deep in the field, work through traffic and get to the front of the pack and steal a checkered flag coming off the 4th corner on the last lap is a big trill and something I'll never grow tired of."

With a resume that includes a number of karting championships with the different divisions of the Mosport International Karting Association, Kennedy – who works at Costco – lists scoring his first Peterborough Speedway win as a career highlight. He says he'd like to have the opportunity to race a Porsche GT3 Cup machine on the road course at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport Raceway. Another goal would be to attend a NASCAR event and see his favourite driver race at Daytona International Speedway.

"The early days in karting taught me a lot about car control and how to race. It's great to see some of the same people I raced with then at the track today and advancing through the ranks," said the driver. "We're like an extended family and I'm as happy to see their success as I'm sure they are to see mine."

At the racetrack and in the shop, the #9 Honda is maintained with the help of his parents Dave and Cheryl Kennedy and Jeff Fenton. Sean Kennedy and the team would like to thank Apex Auto, Oshawa and Signworks, Port Perry for their support during the 2015 season.
