David Hébert, Joey Ladouceur et Patrick Picotin, vainqueurs à l’Autodrome Drummond ! Drummondville, Québec – samedi 13 août, 2011 – Martin Bélanger, directeur des communications L’Autodrome Drummond était de retour à l’action en ce samedi soir avec un autre programme de course haut en couleur avec une finale de 100 tours en Modifiés incluant un excitant concours d’arrêts aux puits. De plus, la série Mohawk Race Parts en Pro-Stock, était présente avec un imposant peloton de 24 voitures et une finale enlevante de 50 tours. Les Sportsmans n’étant pas en reste avec une finale de 25 tours. | Drummondville, Quebec –Saturday, August 13, 2011 – Martin Bélanger, Public Relations, Director The Autodrome Drummond was back in action this Saturday with another great program with a 100-lap Modified feature event including an exciting pit stop competition at intermission. Also on the card the Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series with a great field of 24 cars on hand for the 50-lap event. The Sportsman class was also in action with a 25-lap finale. |
L’équipe de Mario Clair a effectué le meilleur temps lors du concours d’arrêt aux puits avec un temps de 17.41 secondes lui permettant de partir sur la pôle lors de la finale de 100 tours en Modifiés. Sébastien Gougeon et Clair, s’échangent la position de tête lors des premiers tours alors que Yan Bussière est troisième suivi de David Hébert. Hébert dépasse Bussière au 6e tour. Hébert poursuit sa remontée alors qu’il est maintenant 2e au 8e et s’attaque à Clair pour les commandes et parvient à prendre les devants au 10e tour. Parti au 8e rang, Steve Bernard obtient la 3e position au 19e tour qui appartenait à Gougeon. La première neutralisation survient au 37e tour pour Michel Fagnan. À la relance, Hébert solide en première suivant de Steve Bernard au 2e rang alors que Yan Bussière est très rapide et prend la 3e rang empruntant l’extérieur du circuit tombant 2e et prenant 4 positions en 2 tours. Bussière prend les commandes au 45e tour devant Hébert. Bussière frappe le mur dans le 4e tournant et le drapeau jaune au 52e tour brisant sa roue arrière laissant la première à Hébert. C’est au tour de Mario Clair qui roulait parmi les premiers, d’avoir des ennuis au 57e tour. Hébert a de la compagnie lorsque les lumières vertes avec Bernard roulant à l’extérieur avec Dany Bilodeau maintenant 3e. Gougeon revient 3e au 67e tour alors que Bernard devient le nouveau meneur au tour suivant. Hébert revient à la charge alors qu’une lutte à trois se dessine pour les 20 derniers tours, Hébert à l’avant avec Bernard et Gougeon derrière lui. Hébert creuse l’écart avec 10 tours à compléter dans l’épreuve. Kevin Hamel a des problèmes et la course reprend au 98e tour, Hébert s’accroche et remporte sa 3e victoire devant Steve Bernard, Gougeon, Jean Boissonneault et Dany Bilodeau qui complète le top 5. Dans la finale de 50 tours Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock, François Adam est le meneur devant Richard Bertrand et Stéphane Lebrun. Joey Ladouceur est maintenant 3e devant Lebrun au 3e tour. Adam et Bertrand sont nez à nez alors que Ladouceur attend patiemment lorsque le drapeau jaune survient au 8e tour. Adam et Bertrand toujours ensemble avec Ladouceur derrière eux à la relance, Adam parvient à prendre un peu de distance alors que Ladouceur réussi à dépasser Bertrand juste avant que Godard échappe sa voiture et que le jaune sort au 16e tour. Adam demeure en tête avec Ladouceur et Ghislain Valade le top 3 au 20e tour. Corey Wheeler parvient à dépasser Valade pour la 3e alors que Ladouceur est le nouveau meneur au 22e tour. À la mi-course, Ladouceur, Adam, Wheeler, Valade et Stéphane Lemire, étaient les 5 premiers. Ladouceur est seul aux commandes avec 10 tours à effectuer alors que Wheeler s’approche d’Adam. Ladouceur résiste à une dernière charge d’Adam et remporte une 4e victoire consécutive dans la série Mohawk devant Adam et Wheeler qui complète le podium. La finale de 25 tours en Sportsman a été la première finale en piste, Patrick Picotin prend les commandes dès le début, celui-ci domine largement alors qu’une légère averse ralenti l’épreuve au 12e tour. Picotin poursuit sur sa lancée au vert suivant alors Martin Pelletier le suit de très prêt avec David Côté en troisième. Picotin résiste aux charges de Pelletier pour remporter sa 2e victoire de la saison devant Martin Pelletier et David Côté complète le podium. L’action se poursuit dans 2 semaines alors que la Super Série Modifié sera présente avec une finale de 100 tours, il s’agira de la 5e manche de cette série québécoise, encore une fois les meilleurs pilotes du Québec seront en piste. Les Sportsman et Pro-Stock seront également en piste alors qu’il y aura des points de championnat dans chacune des catégories et il s’agira également de la dernière soirée de la saison pour accumuler ceux-ci alors que les championnats DIRTcar se terminent lors du premier weekend de septembre. Sébastien Gougeon and Clair exchanged the top spot in the first few laps with Yan Bussière in third followed by David Hébert. Hébert passes Bussière on lap 6. Hébert continues his dominance now in second on the 8th lap and attacks Clair for the lead and takes command on lap 10. Started 8th, Steve Bernard got third on 19th lap that belonged to Gougeon. The first caution occurred on lap 37 got for Michel Fagnan. On the restart, Hebert is solid in front with Bernard behind him and Bussière really strong on the top side taking second and passing 4 cars in two laps. Bussière is able to take the lead on lap 45 on Hébert. Bussière hits the wall in turn 4 and ends his quest for the win and gives the lead on lap 52 to Hébert. It is the turn of Mario Clair to break five laps later. Hébert has company when the green lights are back on with Bernard running from the high side with Dany Bilodeau in third. Gougeon grabs third on lap 67 with Bernard now the new leader on the following lap. Hébert comes back hard as 3-way battle shapes up with less than 20 laps to go. Hébert is running in front of Bernard and Gougeon is behind the two leaders. Hébert got away with 10 laps to go. Hébert stays in front and wins his third feature of the year over Bernard, Gougeron, Jean Boissonneault and Dany Bilodeau completes the top 5. In the 50-lap Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series, François Adam takes the lead over Richard Bertrand and Stéphane Lebrun. Adam and Bertrand are running nose to nose for the lead with Joey Ladouceur now in third. Ladouceur is able to get by Bertrand just before Gilles Godard brings the caution on lap 16. Adam stays first in front Ladouceur and Valade on lap 20. Corey Wheeler passes Valade for third with Ladouceur taking the lead on lap 22. At the halfway point, Ladouceur, Adam, Wheeler, Valade and Stéphane Lemire, are the top 5. Ladouceur is alone in front with less than 10 laps to go. Ladouceur resists to a hard charging Adam and wins a fourth feature in a row in the Series over Adam and Wheeler steps on the podium. The 25-lap Sportsman feature was the first one to take the track; Patrick Picotin took the lead and gets a confortable one over the field as rain brought the caution on lap 12. Picotin leads the way on the following green with Martin Pelletier following him closely and David Côté in third. Picotin was able to resists to charges of Pelletier to win his second feature of the season over Martin Pelletier and David Côté who completes the podium. The action continues in two weeks with the Modified Super Series in town with a 100-lap event, it will be the fifth race of that series with all the best Quebec native drivers on hand. The Sportsman and Pro-Stock will also be in action with championship points awarded in all 3 categories. The champions will be known at the end of the night as the points will end on August 27th with DIRTcar points are ending during the first weekend of September.
