DIRT Modified Ace Brett Hearn Headed to Airborne
For Immediate Release AS-081211-1 SOUTH PLATTSBURGH, NY – Future DIRT Modified Hall-of Famer Brett Hearn of Sussex, NJ, will compete at Airborne Speedway in the Charley Trombley Memorial 100 Big Block/Small Block Syracuse Qualifier presented by Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, September 10, 11. |
Hearn recently won the “Thunder on the Thruway” 60-lap event at Fonda Speedway to reach the 800 career wins milestone. His career mark includes 471 Big-Block Modified victories, 327 Small-Block Modified wins and two United Racing Company (URC) Sprint Car wins. The seven-time Mr. DIRT Modified Champion will drive a TEO chassis machine owned and prepared by Herb Bartemy of Sheldon, VT and sponsored by TDI Towing and Recovery and TDI Repair Facility. “It will be a challenge to race on Airborne’s progressively-banked track for the first time,” Hearn said. “I’m looking forward to it.” Hearn is likely up to the task despite seldom racing on asphalt. “I won a DIRT-Asphalt challenge race at Nazareth (PA) back in the early 90’s,” he recalled. Hearn won 358-Modified championships at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006. The September 10, 11 weekend race card includes Airborne’s Sportsmen, Renegades, Mini Modifieds and Bombers. Hynes Electric, Rent-A-Wreck and Haley Lumber are co-sponsors. Airborne Speedway is located in South Plattsburgh, NY on Broderick Road, just off Route 22, one mile south of I-87 exit 36. Contact: Tom Herzig 802-882-8131 |
