MICKS READY FOR SEASON OPENER DICKIES 200

For Immediate Release

MOUNT ALBERT, ON,  Friday May 20, 2011:  Kerry Micks driver of the No. 02 is looking forward to his second season with Dickies and Beyond Digital Imaging as primary co-sponsors on his No. 02 Ford Fusion. Micks is also proud to continue his relationship with Prostate Cancer Canada and will continue to support the cause with local fundraising events throughout the 2011 season.

In the off season Micks Motorsports has been focusing on preparing top notch race cars in order to compete for the top spot every week.  They are also excited to work with new crew chief, Tyler Case. “Tyler is young ambitious and brings a different perspective to the table; we are thrilled to have him on top of our pit box where he will join Car Chief Ray McCaughey for the 2011 NASCAR season.”  Micks has also been testing on both oval and road course circuits to keep the momentum of the 2010 season rolling.

Last year Micks finished third in the final race at Kawartha speedway locking in fifth place in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Points Standings and this season Micks is looking to top that performance.

“We are looking to start the season off right and what better way to do that than with a win at the Dickies 200.  Mosport is one of my favourite tracks and we always seem to do well there. I can’t wait for the green flag to drop.”

The 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will take the stage on Saturday May 28 with the Dickies 200 at Mosport Speedway.  Spectator gates will open at 1:30 p.m. with autograph session commencing at 5:45.  The green flag will drop for the Dickies 200 at 7:00 p.m.  In 2010 Micks took home third at Canada’s fastest half mile oval.

This year Dickies Canada has launched a new and exciting challenge for fans. The Race to Win Challenge encourages fans to visit Dickies.ca to sign up and pick the winners of each event. Fans can win weekly prizes including $250.00 worth of Dickies clothing.  Dickies is also offering a Grand Prize trip for two to Texas Motor Speedway.  Kerry Micks is excited about this Challenge and said, “It is another great program that Dickies has initiated to keep the fans involved in our sport and I encourage everyone to check it out.”
