For immediate release South Plattsburgh – A large field of DIRTcar 358-Modifieds is expected at Airborne Speedway Wednesday, June 20, for the Della Motorsports 75 – the 2012 DIRTcar Asphalt Modified Series opener. The first event of the four-race series pays $3,000-to-win. Event number two will be held at Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster, NY. The series finale, also slated for Airborne, is the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Triple 50’s Shootout Saturday/Sunday September 8,9. |
The Triple 50’s Shootout winner will earn $5,000. Airborne has averaged 28 DIRTCar Modifieds for its weekly racing schedule this season. George Foley of Vermontville, NY has three wins, tops in the division. Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT is the current point leader, eight points ahead of Greg Atkins of Clintonville, NY and 16 points up on Foley. Invaders include former Syracuse 200 winner Frank Cozze of Wind Gap, Pa., former Fonda Speedway champion Matt DeLorenzo of Cropseyville, NY, Keith Flach of Ravena, NY – a top-runner at Lebanon Valley Speedway, and former Airborne Modified champion Bob Savoie of Broadalbin, NY. The Delta Motorsports 75-lap series opener is presented by Northline Utilities and Haley Lumber. Qualifying heats begin at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. Admission is adults/$17.
