Dery Clings to Slim ACT Castrol Lead

Two Points Separates Leaders

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                   ACT – 061312 -45

Waterbury, VT – After two stops on the Serié ACT Castrol tour, competition remains as tight as ever amongst Canadian race teams.  Quebec’s Jean–François Déry retains the point lead, but it has now been reduced to a trim two points after Boischatel, QC’s Donald Theetge delivered on a big win.

Déry has come out of the gate on fire in 2012 dominating the opening event before settling for third and backing it up with another third place finish at Autodrome Chaudiere.  Déry is searching for his first ACT Série Castrol Championship, but two-time Champion Donald Theetge has put the heat on following a victory at Autodrome Chaudiere which vaulted him from mid pack to just two points out of the lead in second.

Only 12 points back is up-and-comer Dany Trepanier, who nearly took the win from Theetge and finds himself in third place in the overall standings.  Karl Allard follows in fourth after his opening day victory, and David Michaud rounds out the top five.

Defending Champion Patrick Laperle fell back to sixth overall after a heartbreaking mechanical failure took him out of the win at Autodrome Chaudiere, Eric LeHoux, rookie Etienne Cliche, Gaetan Lauzier, and Patrick Hamel round out the top ten.

Déry will try to hold off Canada’s top talent as the ACT Série Castrol Championship fight continues at Circuit Riverside Speedway in St. Croix, QC this Saturday, June 16.  Post time 6:00 pm.
